Employee Party Turned Great!
I went to an employee party that I wasn't sure I really wanted to attend.
I ended up having a great time, and getting a bonus, I surely did not expect!!
I was surprised that the kitchen staff was fed first, and then we all got called to the "corner" which I thought was a very bad thing, thinking we had misbehaved or something LOL!! Then to my surprise and all my fellow cooks as well, we were all handed a bonus and thanked for being the backbone of our restaurant!!
My pride beamed, not only for me, but for my fellow cooks as well. As much as I try to say that I am not a manager, they all remind me that I really am.
I was once the Sue Chef of this crew, and they all still see me as that, which I am grateful for, but I feel a bit of sorrow for the new Sue Chef.
He really works hard, and works with me and our head chef to make sure everything runs smoothly.
I know you are all wondering why I gave my position up, but I was having some very personal issues that detained me from preforming my professional expectations.
Personally, I feel much better being just a cook lol, not as much responsibilities! I still make the soups and lunch specials, and run my shift, I just don't have the title anymore. I am good with that.
All in all, I had a great time at my employee party, and got an unexpected bonus in the end. I work with the best bunch of guys a girl could ask for!

I was very glad to see this. It was the first year of getting an official bonus, I have been with this restaraunt for 9 years now and it is the second bonus. The first one we got right after three really busy local functions, the GM came through the kitchen and handed everyone $200. It was great that year as well!
I'm glad that you have a job that you enjoy and that they appreciate you. Those can be hard to come by.

I really do enjoy my job. I love cooking, and the crew I work with are hands down some of the best!!
It was so much fun, the owner of the restaurant I work for rented out the arcade in town and all the games were free, my daughter had a blast as well!
That's great...always good to be acknowledged for our efforts...especially when it isn't expected.
