4 months journey as a side blogger: Brand new website report
Hello folks,
It's me! You don't know me? I'm 4 months old!
For all those who don’t know me. I’m Sebastian. I joined WA in 2018 when I had neither a laptop nor money to pay my yearly premium membership. Thank God my dream of becoming a blogger came true on July 3rd. And I’m here to tell you what’s going on and what’s wrong with my site.
I was very hesitant about publishing this post. I was wondering if this would be useful to someone out there.
But in definitive I decided to publish it hoping to get some advice from you. Yes You
From the beginning
It’s already been 4 months since I became a premium member of WA; 4 months whose day after day, I am learning to scratch some words on my notebook in order to get contents on my blog.
Things are not so simple for me since English is not my native language. I have to write, translate and use proofreading software like Grammarly to get a "ready to go" content to publish on my blog. lol
You know the hassle we have in our WordPress dashboard. Right? Add all these!
Maybe things are not so on your side.
As for me, I spend most of my free time there. Otherwise, I won’t publish a new post.
And guess what? Here is the result:
Activities and achievementsTraining progress at Wealthy Affiliate
Online Certification Course: Level 5 (there are some tasks not accomplished)
Affiliate Bootcamp: Level 4 (some tasks not accomplished)
Pinterest activities and achievement
Numbers of boards created: 2
Number of pins (post): 112
Number of followers: only 113
Number of Impression: 5,5K
Number of pins saved: 35
Number of link clicks: 24
Conclusion: My activities on Pinterest allowed me to have 24 visitors on my site with 1 comment.
Activities and achievement on the core site
Number of blog post: 20 + 2 page
Number of site users: only 561 with only 401 active users
Number of page views: 711
Number of affiliates sign-ups: 4 (2 WA free members + 2 Leadsleap (1 pro +1 free))
Affiliate Commission: 17.55$ so far
Site index and rank
Bing & Yahoo: 16 indexed with 3 ranked #1 on the first page
Google: 10 indexed with only 1 post ranked #on the first page
So...
What is the conclusion?
Bing "love" me
I have to confess it! When I started this blog, I knew Google search console, and I connected my website so early to it. But I didn’t know about the Bing webmaster tool.
It was only a month after launching my blog I learned about this tool through the training here at WA. I very quickly started to claim my site with them.
I was surprised by the results because I saw my site indexed by this search engine and Yahoo followed and today, I and Bing get along well.
But...
What about the GIANT Google?
Google HATE me so much!
Why?
Let me defend myself:
1. Google knew my site long before Bing
2. Google scrawl my site and refuse to index my posts. It has indexed my content since last October 10th. It scrawls it and refuses to index them.
And guess what?
One of my posts was de-indexed a week ago.
This post has a whole story. I struggled with Google to get this post indexed (using Google search console "scrawler").
After struggling and triumphing, Google didn’t even give me the time to celebrate my victor: it de-indexed this post.
So, am I not right to say that Google hates me?
My final word
I am there. I don't know where you are so far in your journey.
I'm at this level in my side blogging journey.
Where are you in your blogging journey?
No matter where you are in your journey, whether you just started like me or you started a long time ago, and don't get yet where you want, keep working and don't give up. The best is on the road!
As for me, I will not give up!
No, I'm going to "court" Google and win his "love". No doubt!!
Sebastian
