Problems with maintaining focus!
Losing Focus?
WAers, this past year I've found that I'm losing my focus totally. Actually ever since the 2020 Election here in the US my mind has been totally distracted. What with the political mess we have, the COVID junk and my own loss of faith in many huge tech corporations, its been extremely hard for me to focus on my blogsites and my training. I'm having huge problems finding things I want to write and post about on my blog sites. I've had problems getting excited about any products to promote on my blogs. I find myself not wanting to promote Amazon products and haven't been able to find good alternates for my affiliate links and promotion.
Also, to be blunt I haven't physically felt that great. I'm still stuck in this wheelchair and getting out of it very little. I've been dealing with the pain of a frozen shoulder and lack of motion in that shoulder. My energy level is very low and I'm fairly depressed with my missionary daughter and her family (with my 3 little grandchildren) scheduled to go off furlough and return to the mission field in January in the jungles halfway around the world. I worry about their safety and that I will not get to see my little grandchildren grow up.
I've been trying to increase my health with good vitamins and supplements and have had some success but not enough. I'm still having significant daily pain and a lot of discomfort sleeping (I rarely even get to sleep before 4am.
I need to pep up and get some of my passion and focus back for my blogging. Please share your tips on creating more passion and focus that you have used.
I'm considering starting a new blog about being handicapped that might interest me a lot since I'm stuck in this wheelchair and dealing with hearing loss. Do you have any suggestions for affiliate programs in this realm?
Have a great day my fellow WAers! -Shirley

Hi Shirley,
I haven't been in the hospital for any serious illness the last 20 years; so probably I am not the best person to share regarding physical pain. Still I would like to share on what I do. (1) I exercise-going to the gym, cooking, gardening, housecleaning, walk, feed, play w/ the dog, mowing lawn, stretching feet, arms, head, fingers etc, while on bed ready to begin the day. In other words I move a lot. (2) I have never been on a diet. The food I eat daily: less salt and less sugar. I drink lots of water, tea and coffee on occasion. Mentally, I feel good already knowing that some well meaning individuals are out there to serve humanity specially the less fortunate ones.
You should be proud and happy multiple times than I do because these people closed to you are the enlighten ones whom the world should look up to.
Looking forward to read your blog soon . . . .
Frank
I know all about pain Shirley, I live with it everyday. I have learned to deal with it and to remain positive. A year ago I didn't think I'd ever get out of bed but, with the help of some great people, I did. Everyday I have to be aware of every step I take, but I regard every step as a win. All the best. Jim
Hey Shirley,
Pain is one of the worse things for depression and is often hard to snap out of, in fact sometimes impossible especially when medication, whether prescribed or not doesn't work.
Sometimes you just do not know where to turn.
My wife suffers from Ankylosing Spondylitis which if you didn't know is fusing of the vertebrates.
In the past, she has suffered from excruciating pain.
Now she is totally off her medication and has been for 2-3 years.
Why you might ask?
I took a course in Reiki and administer it whenever she wants.
I can hear you laughing or maybe the whole of WA.
Take it from me it works.
Now, I have never been one for doctors and been prescribed medication simply because all they are interested in is making a commission on prescribing the drugs.
With regards to starting a new blog in a new niche be careful.
There is a lot of talk about finding a niche that you have passion for but is that niche going to be a paying one?
If you want to discuss Reiki further then please private message me.

Mick, I've definitely heard of Riki and read some about it. I have degenerative discs in my lower back, fibromylgia, diabetes, hearing loss and this pain in my shoulder since the fall of 2019.
I have no problem with use of alternative medicine and techniques. I'll pm you. -Shirley
Hi Mick
How did you get to learn enough about reiki to be able to use it please?
:-)
Richard
Shirley, now my wife's brother has something similar with his back and had a plate fitted.
He was/is on these patches which are basically morphine which is as strong as you are allowed.
Even taking these he is in excruciating pain so I attached a Reiki session to a cuddly toy his grandkids gave him.
Now, this is a person who doesn't believe anything so you can imagine what I thought when he asked me.
I know it worked for him because he rang me the next day to tell us but we haven't heard from him for a number of months, so maybe it is still working for him.
I will have to give him a ring.
Cheers
Mick
Hi Shirley
Sorry to hear about all you have been through.
First, take a deep breath, relax and do what you enjoy doing most.
I feel sharing your experience with handicaps is a great idea.
You feel relieved talking about it and also help others by sharing your story.
Take good care of yourself, sleep well, relax and have fun.

So sorry to hear you are suffering so much Shirley> The Reiki is definitely worth trying. Sounds like Mick is a natural healer.
Constant pain is so debilitating it's hard to focus on anything else.
Certainly not helped by worrying about your daughter and grandchildren on top of what you are already going through.
Maybe starting another niche will help you get that focus and interest back distracting you from the pain.
I wish I could do something to help.
