Anyway to see everything that I've commented on?

I use my browser "back" button.
If you hover over it (or right click it) the bottom line is "show full history". Select that and you get a complete history that you can search and filter.
Depending on your settings you can still do this with a new browser window that has no history. Just google something random and select anything. You now have a "back" button, and you can call up the browser history.
The only history there is, is on the left in my history, and in your own mailbox or in the trash folder under the notifications
I don't think so, but it was just last night that I was thinking it would be nice to have. I would nave liked to go oback and add something to a comment I made about 20 minutes earlier.

Hi Scott - not that I know of no - you could setup alerts to inform you of when your comments are "liked" - but there's no repository of "comments I've made" currently.
Any reason you're asking? Have you commented on something you're trying to find again?
Cheers, Mark

I've had my site up for a couple of months and I'm getting traffic (according to Google) but no one (apart from the initial visitors from WA) has used the rating system I have s
another reason is the black background / white text... its hard to read and to be honest your site is very busy and hard to follow ... there is so much information mushed together.. I don't know how much you love that theme and background, but you might want to think about changing them... just my honest two cents for what it is worth :-)
I agree with DIGGER12. I also didn't notice the rating option until I moused over the image. It is possible that most people are just looking at the images without clicking or mousing over them.
Hi, To be honest I didn't see it, until I went back and specifically looked for it, clicked on the image and then saw it :-)

I asked this question some weeks ago but didn't get an answer to it. So here goes again...
I'm using the BirdSITE theme for my site. Currently in the comments section it s
Hi Scott
Not sure if you have received an answer to your query in the theme forum or not.
I have downloaded the Birdsite theme and it would appear that the code in the comments.php is calling a custom function hence the reason you can't see 'Leave a reply' and I would guess it is just using the Default Wordpress label.
You could try copying the following code and pasting it at the VERY BOTTOM of the "functions.php" file taking the usual precautions and leave a blank line after the existing content. Also ensure you capture the final semi-colon character.
function comment_reform ($arg) {
$arg['title_reply'] = __('Leave a comment:');
return $arg;
}
add_filter('comment_form_defaults','comment_reform');
If you want to remove the HTML tags message at the bottom of the comment form, please refer to my blog post. Remove HTML Tags Good luck

I am glad I could help Scott
I know such things are but minor tweaks, but they can really gnaw at you when they are not right.
On a new site, I often use "Please leave a comment" as I find visitors are more likely to respond to an invite than an option.
Once they can see there are other comments on the site, not necessarily the same article, they feel more comfortable.
Many people don't want to be first.
Obviously you can now change this to whatever you want by amending the text on the 2nd line.
Keep a copy of this as it might get removed following theme updates.
I recommend keeping a document that includes any configuration changes you make to your site such as this and colour code options used etc. etc.
If you haven't already done so I would also recommend creating a test site here using one of your free website options
Wishing you every success with your site
Dave
Yeah, I wanted a more "call to action" statement, as I don't seem to be getting any engagement on my site. I'm getting traffic (according to Google Analytics) but no interaction. I hope this helps things. Unless you can see anywhere else I'm going wrong on my site....

I've tried to set up a child theme, following the tutorial by rob3, but for some reason I get an error. I'm waiting to hear back from him on where I'm going wrong. I'm guessing that's what you mean by the "test site"?
Scott
I am sorry but to be totally honest I think the problem is the format.
(not the content)
When I 1st looked at your site as a visitor I thought
OH just one page not much here then, I then noticed the pages at the bottom and clicked through them.Without looking at your Analytics, I would guess that is what the majority of your visitors do and then leave.
People are very used to seeing images in groups like this such as top 10 celebrity failures etc.etc they look at the images and move on.
I then put my other hat on and noticed your narrative on the left sidebar You have 5 calls to action in 1
" CLICK ON THE IMAGES to View, Rate, Comment & Buy or Print your own, if you dare!"
A call to action is just that a (as in 1) call to action this is just confusing I think. Though I guess not many people read this anyway to be honest the images just distract the visitor and I guess they don't even know they can buy a download pattern and if they could what would they do with it?
I know the images are really important to this site but people need to be given some information as well
Also, A LOT of your images appear below the fold when clicked on with only a blank screen and a Google ad appearing above the fold.
I would recommend that you get some friends and family to look at the site with YOU watching them but NOT interrupting or guiding them. See how they use it and AFTERWARDS ask them why? In order to get user feedback.
I am but one person after all.
As far as a test site NO I do not mean a child theme I mean a separate site like http://scotttest.siterubix.com you can then try out Themes, Plugins, code etc without risking your live site.
Believe it or not I have not created a child theme as I have used but 1 theme for several years which I could use to replicate the looks of any theme out there I would guess. It gives me the functionality to add in code (CSS, PHP or javascript) without touching any core files. It is expensive though but means I do not suffer the limitations of many here within WA with site design.
I am sorry I don't mean to be negative just constructive.
The images certainly get the brain going and thinking outside of the box. But alas I do not have a 3D Printer!
Dave
This is really good feedback Dave. I really do appreciate it. Let me digest this and see what comes of it.
Thanks again.
Scott
I am certainly NOT pointing the finger at all Scott but what many people here and indeed some of the big well known IT companies overlook, believe it or not, is that they are not building their site for themselves they are building it for their VISITORS !
Visitor experience is EVERYTHING!
I'm sorry, I don't do code but have you looked in the theme support forum, they're usually pretty good at answering questions. :) https://wordpress.org/support/theme/birdsite
Thanks Kathy, I hadn't tried that. Should have been my first port of call I guess! I've put my question on there...so I'm waiting...
Well you can usually get an answer here but I've not seen your question before so thought support forum would be quicker. :)

Hi, I'm wanting to change the text where it says "Leave a Reply" in the Comments section of a post/page.
How do I do that?
Cheers
Scott
You have to search that sentence in your editor, until your eyes roll out, I changed all that stuff from English into dutch on one of my websites, keep reading and searching:))
I've been through everything, and searched with Ctrl-F to find - it ain't there. Where else can I look??
Sorry, but it's not in mine. I'm using theme BirdSITE. Don't where they've hidden it! Frustrating...
I've got through each of the templates and styles and can't find it in any of them. What am I missing here?
:) I have spend three weeks looking for all texts to make my website dutch, every theme is different too, I still have two words I can't find either:(
