But I'm no expert. How can I possibly give advice to anyone? And succeed?

I found WA after searching many web pages and blogs for that elusive program that would show me how to make money online.

I've been working the majority of my life (like most people), for other people and relying on them to pay me for doing work for them. And that was fine. For a while. Now I'm doing work for other people and getting paid for it - but I hate what I'm doing! I don't want to be stuck in a "chicken coop" (otherwise known as a call centre) for the rest of my days. I want to be doing something that I enjoy AND getting paid for doing it, and ideally, working for myself so I can do it WHEN I want to do and HOW I want to do it.

So I started on the training on WA, and all was going well until I reach the step of "Finding a niche". So I looked at what I'm interested in, passionate about, would love to do every single day even if I wasn't paid. And music (playing guitar, writing songs, recording, etc) comes top of the list. I've been playing for over 20 years. But to be honest, I haven't really put in the due diligence to become a real expert or pro. I'm just, well, okay at it. Let's say, I know enough and can play competently enough to put a good song together.

When I started looking into this niche further and trying to narrow it down to which specialised area I could actually provide some value to people, I started looking at how my lack of expertise in the area would hold me back. I wouldn't know enough in order to give someone the right information or solution that maybe someone more trained and knowledgeable could give. So why would someone want to come to me if they can get it elsewhere? Well, that's a very good question, I thought.

And from that point, I started feeling disheartened about the whole thing. I thought "I'm doomed. A clucking chicken. Cooped up forever."

But instead of just leaving WA and I decided to turn to the community and see what help I could get. I went on the Live Chat and spoke to some very helpful members and got myself perked up a bit and not so discouraged as I'd felt earlier.

I looked around the community to see if there were other musicians, guitarists, etc and left comments on their profiles to see if they could give me any inspiration or ideas. But nothing was forthcoming on an immediate basis. So I continued looking around the community and started reading some of the blogs by members.

And a breakthrough occurred. And from a totally unexpected source.

A member had created a blog, which was very brief and was asking other members to have a look at his website and give comments. It was a site about looking after babies from a dad's viewpoint. Not related at all with what I was wanting to do. But a very nice site and well laid out.

I went through the whole site and came to the "About Me" page. And there it was. The author was a dad and he hadn't found any other sites that gave information for dads to help looking after babies so decided to produce his own. He stated that he's no expert but he does know some stuff and wanted to make it known to other dad's who might be in the same boat.

I realised at that point that that applies to me exactly. OK, I'm not an expert but I do have knowledge and skill that could be of help to someone out there. And if I did want to become more knowledgeable and skilled, well, I could do that and let others know about it as I went along.

Now this might seem very logical and obvious to some. And when I look at it now, it is! When you've been a chicken for so long and don't get out of your coop very much, it can be difficult to see the gate out of the farmyard!

If there is anyone who's joined WA who feels like they really don't have what it takes to be a success online, think again. All it takes is using this community to it's fullest. Because if you look, thou shalt find an answer to your problem. It may not come from an obvious source. It may not come straight away. But if you persevere, it will come.

And keep in mind: you may not be an expert, but you still may know something that someone else doesn't. And you can always become an expert.

This was exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you!

Scottwhateva: Welcome to WA! You're in a great place with a very positive attitude. You're on your way to success. :)

Scottwhatteva, there could be no encouragement better than this! You will always be blessed. I wish many discouraged souls would find this blog.

Thank you very much kpatrice. Glad to be of help. Definitely let others know if you think it can help them too. Scott

great blog, everyone has mind block, some days I open my laptop and I just can't think of anything to write and that could be an array of reason as to why. More often then not it's through a tired mind.

Thanks Phil. I think that's the real value of a community - you can speak to someone who's on the same wavelength and they can help you, because they've probably been in the same position and have found a way out of it. Otherwise just communicating with someone usually helps you come up with a solution anyway...

If I can help in anyway just ask. :)

Hi again Scottwhateva,
Very nice blog, I am sure this will be of benefit to many WA members who are having doubts or mind-block.
A real story always inspires in someway.
Thanks for sharing, So what are you gonna do again? :)
Best wishes,
MelvinS.

Hey Melvin, I never did answer your question here? But I do have an answer now. Instead of explaining, here's the site, tell me what you think: guitar.everythingprint3d.com

All the best,
Melvin.

Thanks Melvin!

Great blog, Scott! I think everyone has felt that way. I don't think you have to be an expert at it, just have a passion and willingness to help people. Much success!

Thanks, JeanL.

Scott, thanks for this great post....I had the same fears/doubts...
Paul
