My time at WA so far

Hi All,

Just giving a quick update on my time here so far. I'll try to keep it short and to the point :)

My Progress...

Well I joined WA some time in September i think. I was still in the corporate world at the time and I didn't make full use of the trial period. By the time I got around to paying attention to the training, I needed to go premium as i didn't have access to some of the areas. Since late October I've

• set up my travel and dessert blog Https://travelandtreatz.com
  
• written a few posts, as painful and as out of my comfort zone as these things are, i'm getting used to it
• gotten a bit more comfortable with my writing style. I think this is also as a result of the comments on my blog posts. My previous world didn't need me to get descriptive and creative with words. It needed me to tell a whole story to executives in 3 or 4 lines.
• still absorbing SEO and keywords
• finally found a gallery display plugin that i like after MUCH searching
• in parallel been reading about photography and practicing with my new camera (upgraded from a point n shoot)
• learnt that blogging is a lot more complicated than i previously thought
• been overwhelmed with all that's involved in social media posts, google posts, WA community activity. It's a lot of channels to manage communication through. However, I am getting a handle on this.

In the next 3 months, I hope that this blog is actually making money. In 6 months I'd like to be travelling and have this blog be a sustainable source of income. Otherwise in 6 months it will be back to the corporate world for me.

Looking forward to popping a bottle of champagne that's paid for by my web earnings in 3 months!
