Made my first sale!
Small successes are still a success!
So it's a very small success guys, to the tune of $1.25... BUT...I have made my first affiliate commission on my new website!! Very exciting news considering I created this site just one month ago. :)
I am beginning to see some rankings on Bing and Yahoo, nothing in Google yet, but I know it can take some time so I am remaining patient on that one.
So far I have been focusing mostly on creating new, informative, and helpful content. I am truly passionate about helping others within my niche, so this is actually very fun for me. I enjoy researching, and I love to write. I just wish I could do it faster sometimes! HA! But maybe that will come in time. ;)
Social Media
The past few weeks I have started to branch out more on social media. I have a google+ account that I always post my new content on, I created a Facebook page, and I created and grew an Instagram account to just over 1,000 followers within 12 days! I was thrilled with this as I have struggled with growing an Instagram account for a different website in the past.
Even though I am not ranking in google yet, social media has allowed me to get a small amount of traffic to my site, which led to an Amazon affiliate commission! So don't be discouraged if your site isn't on the first page of google yet. It's OK. That will come in time. Just keep working hard, posting great content, and start building some social media communities for your site so that people can find your awesome information!
I have decided to put my focus into Instagram for now as far as social media goes. Although, I am hoping to dive into Pinterest this week. When you start working more on social media, focus mainly on one at first so that you don't burn yourself out.
Here is a big tip for gaining social media followers.... ENGAGE. People want to be a community within a niche, whether they realize it or not. Private massage people and talk to them. Ask them if you can re-post on of their pictures and give them photo credit so that your followers can follow them back. This way, you get a great picture to post, and they get some exposure. It's a win win, and it can start up a conversation and even a relationship with a person! I have already met some really cool people within my niche, and have stayed in contact with them. Building true community and relationships gains the trust of your readers. When you gain TRUST, you make SALES, because people trust what you are telling them is true, and will want to purchase what you recommend.
So get out there and get connected!! :)
You Can Do This.
Stay strong guys. This is possible. You can do this.
I wanted to create this post to encourage you all to keep going! It can take a long time to get noticed on the internet, but once you are noticed, amazing things can certainly happen. I, obviously, have only seen a tiny glimpse of this, but it has helped motivate me to push forward, so that I will be able to see a lot more than a glimpse in the future!
I am a stay at home mom with a three year old and a one year old. It is tough to balance it all... Some days, I truly wish I could sit down and just write for 12 hours straight. That is how much I enjoy doing this. Then other days, I want to give up. Because it's HARD. It takes focus, determination, dedication, discipline, organization, patience, and lots of work.
I have had to learn to be OK with the amount of work that I am able to do. I am the kind of person who wants to get as much done as I possibly can. I'd like to post 10 posts a week, and run more than one website, and be engaged on every social media platform, and be in the top 100 on wealth affiliate!! But... I can't. I cannot do it all. Not yet, not during this time in my life, because I also want to be a good wife, a good mommy, keep my house in order, make dinners for my family, take adventures with my family, and be present as much as possible.
However, this does not mean that I cannot be successful, and it doesn't mean that I can't get to this point eventually. I just have to be patient and do what I can do during this season, and be happy and proud of what I am able to accomplish.
Keep reminding yourself why you are doing this. Keep looking forward to the future, and imagine what life could look like if you reach your ultimate goals with this endeavor. Think of how it would change your life, change your family's life, forever.
Whatever you do... Don't. Give. Up.
Until Next Time,
Sarae <3

That is awesome, congratulations! My website is 4 months old and like you, I have a couple of posts ranking on page 2 with Bing. I am nowhere to be found with Google. Thanks for sharing, and like you said don't give up!
Keep going! With my first website (before I joined WA) it took around 6-8 months before I started ranking on google, and I just started trying to monetize it a month ago which is when I started my second website as well. So I’m new to the whole making money online aspect.
It takes awhile, but google will recognize that you are creating great content and that you’re here to stay eventually! :)
Can’t wait for that day for you either! Keep putting forth the effort and it will happen for sure!
congratulations on the sale. This post shows that you have a fantastic attitude, so I am sure you will find the success you are looking for. All the best
Thank you so much. It’s hard to be patient with it all at times, but I’m believing it will all pay off!
Thank you for reading :)
Congratulation!
The first commission is the hardest to come by but it is the sweetest moment of any affiliate marketer. Now that you have found what is working, it just a matter of scaling up.
Awesome!

That is great! 1 month in is quick!
This tells you what you are doing is right. Just scale now.
Keep creating and that site will be churning money on auto pilot soon.
Congatulations .
You truly are an inspiration Sarae. This is a beautiful post and you have done an amazing job. 1000 Instagram followers in 12 days... wow. You should do a training here and tell us how you did that.
You sound like you have everything in order and you must always make time for family no matter how much the keyboard is calling you.
I wish you every success.
With Grace and Gratitude
Karen
Thank you Karen for all of your kind words! I would love to do a training on it. :) I’ll have to put that on my goals list for this month!
Yes, family time has to be a priority! It’s not always easy, but 100% necessary. I wish you every success as well!
Thank you for reading :)

I remember about 15 years ago I got my first sale in affiliate marketing. Then I had a site that ended up getting around 17k visitors per hour. My brother and I did what most people didn't think was possible still. I think there's a lot of money to be made and I think there's few that are making way to much. If you can find there sites and copy a site like theirs, I hear that's the way the champs are doing it these days. Them rare sites getting some affiliate places up to 50k a day in sales I hear.
