I call this Anal Retentive!
I call this...'Anal Retentive'...big time.
I have heard this strategy...Oh SO MANY TIMES.
Yet, I forget to take the advice or, to tell the truth, I've just ignore the advice.
"Don't worry about getting things perfect, just get it out there."
How I wish I could do that. I feel like giving myself a whack upside the head at times because everything has to be...JUST RIGHT!
The ironic thing about that is, nothing is ever perfect. There is always room for improvement.
I write and rewrite my pages and posts...then...edit them and edit them again. I may even leave them for awhile after the editing just in case I want to add something else. Heaven forbid I might make a spelling error or use poor grammar (which I do all the time...Yikes).
Oh my god girl, just publish them!
Is there anyone else out there who is as an_ _ as me? Any words of wisdom?
And, just so you know, I typed this without changing a thing. :) :)
Hey, maybe there is hope for me yet!

SandyL...this article doesn't seem to agree with the fact that you usually "edit and re-edit before you write down something that you plan to edit and re-edit just before you give to the rest of the world an ediited version!" ...pheux, you are right ...i just wanted you to have a live taste of how "editting" can be so frustrating!!!
By the looks of this article, and your own admission that you never edditted it, spells out one thing, YOU ARE GOOD!
Just come out of your shell and just write on those pages..BESIDES the best editting is always with the real prototype!...
Note: Everything you write down for the first time, should be your final copy...what you do with it after wards should be viewed as a first, second, and so forth editions...BUT NEVER DENY THE WORLD YOUR FIRST EDITION.
And yes...there is MORE THAN HOPE FOR YOU!
I am the same way. When I have an idea for a post, I think it all the way through, do all the research and make sure it's perfect in my head before I ever even start to type. I agree with some others here that said to write new posts instead of lengthening them. From what I understand new stuff often on your site is best. Good luck.

I think you guys are absolutely right. I just hope I can teach an 'old dog' new tricks! :) Thanks for your input.
I'm with you. I do exactly the same. And even when I do publish my posts I keep going back to edit them time and time again. Oh well we need to have some perfectionists in the world don't we...chuckle. Let it be us...Cheers and all the best :) Patti
Hi Patti, thanks for replying. I'm so glad I'm not the only one. I guess it's not such a bad thing. Wishing you success!
I'm somewhat of a perfectionist also and have been trying hard to just write and publish, I would suggest as long as it doesn't contain typos or grammar errors send it out there. Add posts and pages instead of lengthening them. Keeps the content relevant and fresh. Hang in there and post!

Just go for it Sandy. I think people do get too anal about spelling and grammar.. I mean, get it as best as you can of course, but don't stress about it, just get the info up and out there and as you go along each day, check your pages/posts and tweak them as you go... I mean, someone who I've learnt a ton of stuff from re: internet marketing (it's no one here), was/is SHOCKING with their spelling and grammar - in their emails, videos, PDFs etc... but it didn't bother me, cos they knew what the heck they were talking about! I found it quite endearing actually ;)
Hi Steve, thanks for the good advise...I will try. :)
