In Addition To What's Here At Wealthy Affiliate

Having been member's for a while now I am still perplexed as to why so little emphisis is placed on the essential importance of list building? All the top dogs of internet marketing have built massive mailing lists. The Money Is In The List!

Once you have your own targeted mailing lists of mostly BUYERS not freebie downloaders you simply send one email and some will buy? Your conversion rate depends upon the relationship you have created with your subscribers and the perceived value that you have given them and the trust gained from doing so?

Simply putting a link within your site to an affiliate page of someone else's product is simply building their mailing list while throwing away any chance you have to ever sell to the same buyers again? So come on Kyle, lets tell people to build a list.

This small oversight ruins what otherwise is the very best membership training period? So how do you build a mailing list and more importantly a list of buyers not freebie collectors who never buy from you?

First you must get an autoresponder account. The cheapest by far is Mailchimp where you can get up to 2000 subscribers all for free before they charge you. The best is Aweber which costs $1 for the first 30 days, then $19 a month. Only when your list grows bigger wil they charge more but by then your earnings should cover that?

Start not by giving away tat but something of value preferably a condensed version of an upsell product or the first chapter of an ebook as a taster so that after some helpful tips you present them with the complete solution to their problem which many who got the basic version will want and some will buy?

Then over time in between more relationship building you offer more increasing in cost solutions in your follow up autoresponder emails of related products including eventuallty those you created or have PLR rights to sell? That in my opinion is a far better way then links where you are forever chasing the next sale instead of sending one email to your own mailing list.

Stephen,
That makes a whole lot of sense to me. And that is the direction I am moving toward. I would like to hear Kyle's thoughts.Kyle are you there?

You may want to PM Kyle! I'm sure he will be glad to help you out:) Sharon

Hi Happygirl,

Hi dickw, Yes I can:) TY for the follow. I will leave a comment on your profile page once I've read it. I always take an interest in the members here and Pay it forward, It's good for the soul:)Sharon

That's a big 10/4

Thanks dickw, talk to you soon:) Sharon

Got it bookmarked, thanks for the info.

I bookmarked Email Marketing so that when I have time I can review it and see which is the best way to go..MailChimp Vs Aweber. Thanks for sharing this information with me!

Well done and thanks for sharing!

Stephen, thanks for yr kind sharing. ;)

Kyle has a training on email marketing here ;-

Most autoresponders require monthly fees however I found one called Rapid Mailer that does not. I did a review on it here:http://onlineaffiliatewealth.com/imsc-rapid-mailer-review which I think is pretty good :)

Thanks Peter, The thing I like most about WA is that we don't get nickel and dimed to death and the overhead is very affordable through membership. When we start buying this and that, some of us can't survive all of the monthly fees. Are you using this yourself Peter and if so do you like it? Do you think this could be a turn off in that people may consider us as spam? Thanks again, Sharon:)

I do a good job I think on explaining everything and even compare other autoresponders here:http://onlineaffiliatewealth.com/imsc-rapid-mailer-review which I think is very good and worthy of serious consideration when you are ready for an autoresponder. :)

Mailchimp also doesn't charge a fee until your list exceeds 2000. I however prefer Aweber which is $1 for the first 30 days then $19 a month which is affordable for most people. We are creating a business and investment is always required to run any business.

Look at how much it costs to run any offline business or any MLM or Franchise? Few people make a profit wirth them?

Hi SandJ, I do understand that there is always going to be overhead when doing business. You need to spend money to make money. However, there are a lot of people who have joined here with what may be costing them the membership fee and that's all they can afford until they get going. I appreciate your feedback and that you did point out that there are some free sites for the people that can't afford to increase their overhead just yet. Thanks for helping out. Sharon:)

I agree that mail lists are the money makers. Thing is, if you type "mail lists" in the question search box above, ten training tutorials pop up and as many blogs and questions. Check it out.

Try typing autoresponders for a more accurate listing Lary?

Yes, I have seen a few blogs about mailing list but don't know how to get started, a traing video would be great! Thanks for sharing!

Here you go, Kyle has one called, Introduction to Email Marketing.. I hope this was helpful, please let me know once you've watched it. Sharon:)

Hi both,

I'm not sure that Kyle advocates NOT building a list but I suppose, because many who come here are new to affiliate marketing and site building, the emphasis in the training is on getting the basics correct first.

I asked a similar question a little while ago here..... .....and got some interesting answers. See what you think!

Good point though, all the big dogs in IM have lists of thousands but of course they are way ahead in their developmental and skill sets than most are here.

Mark

Mark,

I believe in starting on the right foot so why throw money away using links when getting them on your list allows more than one possible sale from every buyer? I believe using links is very wrong.

To be honest both, I'm just going along with the training here at WA for the moment.

I know that all the top IM people have big lists to revisit with broadcast messages for increased sales opportunities and I will no doubt go down that road myself eventually but for now, because I don't know enough about what I need to know, I'll go with the flow.

Mark

You are absolutely right that the $ is in the lists. But I tend to think the $ is also in the right affiliate relationships. It's a blend of several things and not just one magic bullet (though I totally wish this were the case).

I think the difficulty most people have is understanding what to give away for free to a new subscriber, and also how to then build the relationship with subscribers. How can this be taught in a training course? I don't know that it can because there are simply too many variables given the number of different websites out there ... each with a different twist and idea on any number of products or services.

Now, having said all this, it sounds like you have been successful in list building and know how to get from "A to Z". Would you be willing to share your knowledge and create a training here at WA?

Food for thought... Thank you for your post because it really got my mind thinking of what I can do to build better and longer lasting relationships with my subscribers. God Bless!
