Why am I indecisive? A simple fix.
Last year I was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Literally, I slipped and was wedged between a cliff wall and a large rock at a secluded beach after hiking through the Redwoods.
But emotionally and spiritually I felt somewhat stuck as well.
I was faced with this fork in the road and had to make a decision.
It made me start thinking about the mechanics of indecision and how to get out of that uncomfortable position.
I posted earlier about going for the things you want in life.
And that’s part of it.
What I realized though is the moment you go from a certainty about something to an uncertainty, you immediately suspend all action and forward motion in that subject. Indecision is in essence a stop.
As an example, if you are working at a job and you suddenly go into doubt about that job, you will notice your performance begin to suffer. While you are still there physically, the creation you are putting into it drops to the basement.
Same goes with a relationship. That instant you become indecisive about it, is the instant you stop taking action to build the relationship.
When you are stuck in a maybe, it’s as if you entered a world of suspended animation and have just hit the pause button on life. Or at least that portion of life you are stuck in.
The interesting part of it is that it doesn’t matter which direction you go, either way will resolve the indecision. The real trap is the maybe.
What I realized for myself was that I knew what the right decision was for me. And after spotting how draining it was to be stuck in a maybe, I made the decision instantly.
So the fix is simple. Decide one way or the other and don’t put anymore time into it. I feel like we always know what the right decision is for ourselves. It’s just a matter of doing it and removing the maybe.

Yogi Berra had some good advice about this, Sam. He always said, "When you come to a fork in the road, take it!"

Indecision is, I believe, akin to procrastination. You are so right about decision-making, Sam.
Thanks Jenni! Yes, you are exactly right. Adding the time to "think about something" is the same as indecision. Thanks for your input! L, Sam
Yes, and I made a decision today to CANCEL this subscription. I had high hopes, but this community is not a good use of my time.
Hello Sam,
This is quite an informative post
and an excellent one.
Sometimes people do not know what
to do because they don't have the well-
written and well-defined goals in their
lives to accomplish.
There is no sense of direction where
their lives are leading them that is why
they are stuck and cannot move on.
That is one of the most critical point in
your life where you don't know what
to do and where to go.
In that cases, you are already there.
So, have a well-written, well-defined
goals to achieve on an hourly, daily,
weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi-monthly
and yearly basis.
Then just do it.
Thank you, Sam.
Be well and be blessed.
Elizabeth
Hi Elizabeth! Thank you so much for your in depth response and feedback. I know this is something that resonates with you and it's clear you apply this to your life daily. Thank you for your inspiration and all the great data you provide! L, Sam
Hi, Sam... a thoughtful and thought-provoking post! Thank you.
You said little about your being stuck so I make no assumptions and no comment on that except that it seems to have been a learning experience!
I hope all is ok with you.
:-)

Thank you, Richard! Yes, I'm doing well. I appreciate that. Experiences like this always help one to grow. And if you meant in terms of my physical fall, I'm ok there too =) Have a great day. L, Sam
It boils down to having a passion that you are excited about. Once the flame is still burning you will get up every morning and go after it with renewed vigor. I was hoping to hear how you got unstuck from the mountain face lol.
Hugh
Haha. Rest assured that I did :)
Lol nice
