How Does A Newbie Writes An About Me Page Without Sounding Like An Amateur
Hi there guys & gals, i am in the midst of writing my about me page on a domain that i purchased recently to promote WA as i did not know exactly what my niche was yet, i thought i'd go and start the WA Affiliate Bootcamp. After going thru' the tutorial from Kyle, which was very good in my eyes, and i did not have a problem at all doing what was being thought to me except, writing out the about me page! I do not know if i should use "influence" from kyle's or someone else's about me page or write up about me on what i was doing before this coz i feel if people saw that i am just a newbie, i might get the traffic but not the purchasing power of the traffic that visits my site? What should i do? is it ok to use influence and not write exactly what i was doing before this? or can someone who is a newbie who is also promoting WA fill me in on what you do? Or anyone of the experienced ones please kindly fill me in. :-)

What is it that you can offer to your readers? You can write about that and mix the information with some personal notes from your life. Good Luck!
Hello Marian, Thanks for the advice..i will definitely take that onboard and see where i can mix it into my content...appreciate it very much...Cheers mate!! :-D
The "know, like and trust factors" can really show thru' in your about me page. So be yourself to your readers. Sure use Kyle's training as a guide. But just be you, and use your own style, same as you will/do on your posts. Rick's advice is sound, your readers want to know you are a real person. If your niche is relevant to you personally, then let that show to your readers. I think the word is "personable"?
Thanks Annie...i like that "personable" factor thing, i will definitely mix all the advice i get on here from everyone...take the best parts and make it personable...thank you Annie..i'm havin' a laugh' now.. :-D Cheers mate!!
Here's one way to write a bio/about me page. Introduce yourself yeah. But you should also understand people read "about me" pages to find out "What's in it for them."
So give then a "Big Dream Message." Make your message open their eyes to what's possible. For instance, " I want you to have your dream of Financial Freedom. So you can life the life you WANT to live." Then describe what that life would be like, a little bit.
Now tell them who this is not for. Take that dream away.
You're playing a "Push and Pull Game" with your reader. Creating tension, which both side has to participate. Now your reader is fully engaged with you.
When you push they push back. When you pull they pull back. The prize is your "Big Dream Message."
"Don't Sell The Features. Sell the Benefit."
How does this sound? Can you see it working?
Cheers Craig...That's a good one, yeah i can see that working..i m getting a much more clearer picture now of what i should and can do...mix your advice with Rick's and also take on board all the other's advice about honesty...and yeah..i think i can see it happening now mate!! Cheers man..you have a good day!! :-)
Hi Saleem
I haven't started on this one yet as I have the same issue. What will I write about me?
I have been looking at other sites, reading and watching presentations of offers and analysing how they present themselves and their products. The advice Craig offers seems to follow the format above. However, some of them go over the top.
I sat through a 13 minute presentation last night on a fat busting product and endured the personal bit about how he wanted to help his sister, blah, blah. Yes, I was hooked, the tension was there, but some parts were so repetitive and boring. I just wanted to get to the end...
I've made a note of how I was feeling, what I liked and what I didn't. Perhaps you could try this?
Good luck.
Hey Mel...That's a really good tip about making a note on how we feel, likes and don't likes while reading other people's sites...thanks a bunch mate!! Much much appreciated :-D
Glad to see someone taking notes. And more importantly glad to see someone noticing they reaction reading content. That's awesome! Great way to improve your own writing skills.
Thanks Saleem. Glad you like it.
The "Persuasion of a Sale", learning to playing with readers, make them "want" to click a link instead of encourage them to click on it, it's a very interesting topic.
To me, this is what makes writing so much fun. You get to play around all you want.
I'm new here and thinking how I should start my About me page. Your post has already given me some ideas. Thanks for that advice. Don't wanna get stuck though.
You could consider doing a short video, if you are comfortable with that. That could be good or not so good, depending on how you come across. ~ Jude
Thanks for giving me that option Jude...i should go and give it a try first and see how i look on video..haha..if i look good and do it well..then it's not a bad option actually...Cheers for that Jude!! :-D
Hi and congrats on doing the Boot Camp. Your About Me page will get a lot of views so make sure you introduce yourself and, if you're comfortable with this, include a picture. They want to read something about you as a person, to make sure you're not a scammer or a bot :)
I would also tell them why you're doing this site, what brought you here, what were you searching for and have you found it. Then you can tell them why you think they will find what they are looking for on your site. Hope this helps.

I did my original profile when I joined but as I learn I have made changes. So, don't sweat it so much.
