Hi from the Sunny Caribbean.

My name is Deb and I'm very excited to be a WA affiliate.

I currently live in Anguilla, BWI a small Caribbean island in the Lesser Antilles. My boyfriend and I have a classic West Indian Sloop named Tradition in which we do day sailing charters and sunset sails for visitors and islanders alike.
We also have a bar called The Pumphouse, an Anguilla icon, that we operate when we're not on Tradition.

Needless to say we're very busy and sleep is often the biggest luxury I can imagine. Do I love it? Yes! Are we making great gabs of money? Well that's another story.

So the other night (okay at 3 am after I came home from the bar), I really started asking myself how I was going to create a life that I loved but in a way that I got some sleep and didn't have to worry about making sure our vendors got paid.

I also started questioning my dreams.

You see, every exciting moment in my life is because I had dreams and I chased them!

In my twenties I started to dream about being a female solo traveler. I wasn't in a position at that time to just pack up and leave. So what did I do? I gobbled up books and anthologies about fearless and intrepid female travellers. I literally was consumed by the dream of slipping on that massive backpack and checking out parts of the world that came alive in my imagination.

What happened? Somehow it came together and very shortly after my 30th birthday, I was on a plane to Europe to parts unknown. I traveled for over six months - solo the whole time before having to go back to Canada because my father was terminally ill.

I've also dreamed of sailing for as long as I could remember. Now for a girl from Alberta, Canada, sailing was not exactly accessible and yet, I still had this dream. For twenty years I had this dream and no real idea how to make it happen.

Then one night at a time in my life I was looking to make some life changes, I heard about a Tall Ship, a 3 Masted Barque that did sail training. They were leaving shortly for a Circumnavigation around the Atlantic.

I spent that entire night on their website. I couldn't sleep, I was so filled with certainty that the Universe had spoken. EVERYTHING in me told me I had to sign up. I had to be on that ship!

So i did. I sailed around the Atlantic for almost 9 months.

Then I met my boyfriend. He lived in Anguilla. It was instant. Next thing you know we have a boat and I'm living in the Caribbean sailing every day.

And the other night as I sat and contemplated my dreams, I realized that there is another one that keeps bubbling to the surface: to circumnavigate the world by sail with my guy.

I've spent the last two nights reading about solo/couple circumnavigations. I also spent a lot of time reading about how to make a living while doing it. Guess where that reading led? Yep. Right here.

So, here's to dreaming about financial freedom with WA and to another adventure in my future!

Cheers,
Deb

Broken down, this is going to be more than achievable for you (and then some). The internet has over 2 billion people actively search for and buying things online. All you need to do is connect with a few of these people each day to meet your initial goal!

I know with some hard work and persistence you will achieve all of your goals and then be building brand new ones. I am here to help if you ever need anything and you have an entire community rooting for your success here at WA Deborah! :)

Hello Deb, nice to meet you and welcome to WA. I do know where Anguila is located, no direct flight from Jamaica, where I spend a bit of my retired life. I also went to school in Calgary, Alberta. That is where I matured a little bit. Thank you for the follow and all the best in fulfilling your dreams here and life in general.

Hi Harvey! I've never been to Jamaica, but one day! Anguilla doesn't have much for direct flights - unless you're coming from Puerto Rico. St. Martin is the closest international airport and a short ferry ride away. Calgary, eh? Well, I won't hold that against you!

Oilers Forever!

Hello Deb, ♫Welcome! Nice to meet you ツ I wish you a lot of learning pleasure and fun on WA. Thank you for following me.

From the start, I have written training for every issue I had problems with myself. I also made a list of 1001 niche ideas, a checklist with 25 points to go through before you publish a post, 101 blogging ideas when you get stuck and an A-Z WA dictionary. I just love lists:) It has been very helpful to a lot of people. You can find them on my profile on the right, the first website link (click on my picture). I hope to help you with those.

If you have any questions, please add a comment to this message or leave them on my profile.
Success building your business in 2016. See you around, Greetings Loes

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Hi Kyle,

Thanks so much for reaching out! It means a lot.

It's true that I'm second guessing the niche's I've chosen - although I still really like the idea and the affiliate business that could go with it.

My plan today was to do some more keyword searching and seeing if I could narrow my niche a bit for the first website - build that up initially and then go back to the other niches I had chosen.

I've already paid for three websites on go daddy. I've already started to build one website, but now I'm hesitant.

The great thing is that I joined only a few days ago. And I'm going through the process step by step. I'm putting as much time as my two real time businesses allow.

The bonus is that I already knew I spent way too much time on the internet - but wasting time with FB, social media and Netflix wasn't making me money. So I know I have the time - and now I'm pretty determined to use it to grow professionally and financially. Not a bad trade off for not knowing what my 1000 + FB friends are doing every minute of the day. :)

One real question: People on WA are so great - reaching out with comments, etc. I know there is the expectation of being an active member of the community. But it could turn into the whole FB mess - me spending way too much time reading and responding to comments that I don't get my own work done. How do I stay active, but still manage to focus the majority of my time in these crucial building stages. I don't want to look like anti-social and I appreciate all the cheerleading, I really do! But right now, that just isn't my focus.

Anyway: those are my thoughts on a Tuesday morning.

Thanks again for everything. I'm pretty fired up about this. There's a lot to read here and I want to do everything at once... but I'm also trying to make sure I follow all the steps and lessons until my website is fully built.

Cheers,
Deb

Focus on your business Deb, you don't need to make the community your priority by any means, but it is there if you want to engage and interact about business, get help or offer help to others.

It sounds like you have a good grasp of things and I look forward to seeing your progress as you do move forward. :)
