Another Amusing Occurence

Hello All WA'ers

Have an amusing occurrence to share.

Those of me who know me well, know I care for my mum and dad who are both over 90, believe me it's a full time job...

This one is mainly about dad who's quite deaf and can't see very well neither. Not so long ago about a month or so dad reckoned he needed new glasses because his current ones were n't doing the job anymore.
So we arranged the eye test and everything and his eyes hadn't changed but to pacify him we got him new glasses. He loves his new glasses and thinks he sees much better with them.

Anyways my horizontal who decided he needed to see if his legs still worked and at the same time would install a new grey water pump. Now we have a big house and another passion of mine is rescuing animals so we have a few cats we've homed. Because our house is big 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms plus other rooms and pantries (no wonder it's a job to keep warm) we have kitty litters placed throughout the house. We also have a large wrap around verandah.
One of them is in my mum and dad's suite and dad insists he's quite capable of still maintaining their kitty litter.
Right so on Saturday I have my proud horizontal being vertical for a change checking out his amazing installation of the grey water pump and making sure it's doing what it's supposed to be doing.

Now Dave my horizontal has his back towards the verandah and the house, my dad's decided to clean his kitty litter and comes out with his little poop scoop and the litter box onto the verandah and starts to scoop out the poop and dirty litter.

We also had rain the day before but it was bright and sunny on Saturday.

Dave's standing nice and tall feeling very chuffed with his work and starts to feel these sort of drops on his back and shoulders. "It can't be raining again the sun's shining," he thinks, when he feels a larger bit hit him.

It was raining... only it was kitty litter and kitty poop! Ha, ha, ha, lol.

Dad's merrily cleaning his kitty litter and wearing his new glasses when Dave turns around and coughs loudly (remember Dad's deaf too).

Dad stops suddenly as he's realised someone's there, "Ohhh," he says and hurriedly just turned around and ducked back inside.

So my poor horizontal got kitty litter and poop thrown on him during the momentous moment of feeling so triumphant of his awesome pump installation ...snigger, snigger.

I've giggled about it all weekend...

Had to share

Happy week to all

Ruth

Too funny, Ruth!

Jeff

It was Jeff and I can have an evil sense of humor

Nothing wrong with that, Ruth!

Jeff

It keeps me laughing

I have a sense of humor like that at times, Ruth! 👿

Oh my. You can sympathize with both parties. Or just be callous and laugh your head off.

Thanks Phil for always supporting

The only thing I can think to say is, "Would you like 2 scoops or 3?' Awesome story. Life can be funnier than fiction, or something like that.

Ha, ha, that’s a good one… love it

That’s quite an amusing story, Ruth! 😊

It’s wonderful that you care for your elderly parents! You’re a good person! 👍👍

Frank

Thank you Frank I used to work in aged care for years and I always said I’m not putting my parents into that and I’m not going in neither… so that’s why I do it

We did the same thing for my parents, Ruth, and were happy to help!

They did a great job raising us and were there to offer support every step of the way.

Frank

Hi Ruth, being a carer is a tough job, especially for a family member. I was a carer for 8 years, working in the community, which was hard work but very rewarding. It’s so important to keep your sense of humour, you definitely have!

I agree Frank … my turn to look after them

It is hard work I agree, and thank you I love humor it lifts your spirits

That’s my motto - laughter is the best medicine. I used to make the old folks laugh by telling them funny stories about stuff I’d done in the past. We used to have a good old chuckle and when I left they were looking happier. Job done! I must write a new blog about the time I attempted to drink a whole bottle of martini, aged 15. That will amuse everyone I think!

I look forward to it

I will write it tomorrow. I also want to share the embarrassing tale of my “faulty” hi-fi, and how I fell down a ditch when looking for my cat, then couldn’t climb back out. I need to write a list of my misadventures. It will be a long one!

Looking forward to hearing your life experiences Karen and it’s awesome if you can spread laughter

I love to make people laugh! I will choose one of my many life mishaps to share with everyone!

Ha heard of raining cats and dogs but kitty litter takes a whole new meaning.

Maybe your horizontal needs to put a cover on top of the grey pump to protect him from further ahem So-called Rain

Enjoy your day Ruth

Andre

I’ll let him know Andre, it will be another opportunity for him to stretch his legs

Good this time with the raincoat he will be more prepared LOL

He’s going to love his Father’s Day present

I am sure he will Ruth pity it wasn't before this.

Andre :)
