There are lots of humorists in the world. But not many funny ones. Humor, of all the arts has to be the hardest. A person that creates humor must be able to look so at ease with what they are trying to accomplish.

Mark Twain was one of the greatest humorists of all time. I can think of no one today that can match his wit and sarcasm. In one of his quotes he states:

Humor must not professedly teach, and it must not professedly preach, but it must do both if it would live forever.

- Mark Twain in Eruption

This holds true everywhere, including the internet. How many Affiliates does it take to make money online? Two, one to sell a product the other to buy it. Now I never said I'm a comedian. Humor must come come from the heart. If not all that we see is sarcasm or

rudeness. Humor has been around for thousands of years and it will be around forever. Humor changes with every generation and every culture. Americans won't think something is funny the same a someone from Brazil.

How Do We Keep a Healthy Sense of Humor on the Internet

Sometimes I compare someone that works on the internet as an absent mind professor. Spending hours on a computer without thinking about the people around them including family, friends or acquaintances. I myself am guilty of this. I can easily stay up until 2-3 in the morning and never take my eyes off the screen. Studies have shown this is not only unhealthy physically but in relationships. Our partners feel like they are being ignored. Our friends never hear from us. Our kids could care less because they are on the computer in their bedroom.

You need to set a time limit on your activities. You can work all day if you like but you need to stop every two hours to take a break. It will not only help you physically but mentally as well. The Japanese learned this years ago. The employees in most work places in Japan have mandatory breaks. Not just a break to stand around the water cooler telling jokes, but doing actual exercises.

Humor When You Are Doing Your Work Thing

Most internet marketers are usually working alone. (Unless your Kyle or Carson) sche-dule for yourself during the day. I work for two hours and take a break to walk around the house. Check to make sure no one is checking up on me. Watch 15 minutes of youtube humor. Sorry I need my humor and magic. But put the timer on. Don't allow yourself to get distracted or you will end up like Rip Van Winkle.

Addiction And The Internet

Internet addiction is an impulse control disorder. No drugs are involved and its very to similar pathological gambling. Internet users can develop an emotional attachment to on line friends and activities they create on their computer screens. Internet users may enjoy aspects of the Internet that allow them to meet, socialize, and exchange ideas through the use of chat rooms, social networking websites, or "virtual communities." Internet users spend hours doing research on topics that are of interest to them. Blogging is a contraction of the term "Web log". An individual will post commentaries and keep regular chronicle of events. It can be viewed as creating a journal and the entries are primarily textual. There are two types of people that performs these rituals online. Those that have purpose and are building a business. Those that have an addiction and spend hours just fulfilling there need be online.

In conclusion we need to set our priorities straight and live in the real world world along with the time we spend in the virtual world. We are flesh and blood. Not a bunch of integrated circuits and software programs. We need to have real world friends as well as virtual friends. But if I were to need friends online I would go to a website like Wealthy Affiliate and make tons of friends there. People are warm and friendly and not virtual at all. Just remember "Time is not short, Only life is"

How do you make a handkerchief dance? You put a little boogie in it.

The internet IS addicting and you're right.....it's best to take a break every couple hrs. When you get older, your joints thank you too.

Is that why my wife is calling me a boogie-man? ;)

Great information and valuable content, you truly have a gift of telling
your experiences in a way that benefits anyone looking for answers.

Thanks Larry My father once told me "That a man is not that which he is, but what others make him". "Time is not short, Only life is"

Haha, you know you are right:) I take my breaks, I work on my computer, then I doing some vacumcleaning, work again and cook, again and clean something, I saw myself hanging the wash in the middle of the night at 03.00 AM ;)

Good Morning Tom; Mark Twain was a humorist and author from the 19th century. He work included the following. http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/5465.Best_of_Mark_Twain
His real name was Samual Clemmens. One of my favorite authors of all time. His name came from the riverboats he had worked on. Mark Twain is yelled when they check the depth of the Mississippi so they don't run a ground.

I like your little joke at the end.I never knew that about Mark Twain, are we talking about the author who wrote Huckleberry Finn.I grew up watching a series of that many many years ago and it was so good.

Hi Shirley hard to believe but you are. I cannot see the glow in your eyes nor hear the beat of your heart when you are enraptured by a word whispered in your ear from the written page that also caress' your open eye. The feeling that I have created a moment away from some of the hell you encounter everyday and bring you a little Affiliate Heaven. "Time is not short, Only life is"

Well I'm addicted to the WA family! (That's a good thing...right). I'm very much connected to the real world via being my son's general factotum, who is connected to the real world at his workplace when not connected to his writer's guild friends online, AND taking care of his 4 remaining hammys (cleaning cages, washing and feeding them).

Certainly I need humour, as there's not enough hours in a day to be both online and in the real world. So I get my kicks getting online with the WA family and YouTube. That's my remedy! What's yours dear.....
Blessings........
Shirley
