Hi there. I'm Shirley, a sort of retired grandma from Australia.

I left my full time job in 2014, with dreams of travelling the world and living a more spontaneous, stress free life with my partner. I actually found WA back then, and thought this would be the ideal way to subsidise my retirement funds, as well as provide a great mental challenge and reason to get out of bed each morning.

This is where I should mention that I am also one of the world's great procrastinators - it was much easier to dream about a website that actually made money than really buckle down and do the work. Life intervened too - we've had a wedding in our garden, my new daughter-in-law had a very serious operation - she's absolutely fine now - we did go travelling and we had our first grandchild and became doting grandparents. Plus my work asked if I'd like to work from home giving them a hand with auditing and that was tempting too.....I look back and I've been doing that for two and a half years. It was my plan to just do it for a few months.

I always kept up my membership with WA, and the time has come when I'm going to stop dreaming about doing something with this internet marketing stuff and actually start. I have a goal, a space to work from, and a new ambition if you like to free myself from what has become a bit of a rut. Not to mention if we're going to take our grandchild (hopefully grandchildren) travelling we need to be able to fund it.

I love watching old movies and tv shows, and reading, and buying toys and books for my granddaughter. I also love cooking, sewing, knitting and lots of crafts. My challenge is to discipline my time so WA becomes far more of a priority - and it will.

I'm looking forward to learning what all those words folk talk about here mean, interacting with the community and just maybe soon being knowledgeable enough to actually help out with some answers.

My WA train is just starting to move - I'm looking forward to seeing some forward motion and enjoying the journey.

Money Goals
My first goal is $600/mth on a sustainable basis, and I don't care how long it takes. After that, $2,000 per month, and when I get close to that one, I'll have another ready to go. I work full-time so I figure I can find 20 hrs a week to achieve my first goal, after which I hope to retire and invest the 50 or so hours I work a week in something I own.
1
Money I would be happy earning
2
Money I would be ecstatic earning
3
Time I'm willing to invest to achieve my goals

So awesome Shirley, I know from experience that goals are what lead us to success. Work relentlessly in pursuit of these goals and they CAN and WILL happen.

In fact, wipe failure out of your mind right now. It simply won't happen. You have too much help, support and an entire community of help behind you to ever let that happen :)

If you need anything going forward, just let me known and I will be happy to give you a hand.

Hey Shirley, just wanted to pop back and see how you are doing? I noticed that you haven't quite set-up your account yet, just wanted to let you know there is a video on how to do this if there is any confusion.

Setting up your account will lead to much better help here within the community as people feel like they can connect with you better (with an image and a description)

Just wanted to make sure that all was good and if you do need a hand with anything, just let me know! :)
