The 5 Non-Negotiable Disciplines of a High Achiever
I came over a great article via Jim Rohn's website, Success, about disciplines characterizing high achievers. Connecting with what all of us in our WA community is trying to achieve, these five disciplines are something we should review, every one of us, and take heed to.
- The Discipline of Believing
- The Discipline of Removing Interruptions
- The Discipline of Time Management
- The Discipline of Eating Healthy
- The Discipline of Ignorance
I have more or less followed every of these through my life, but when I have combined them, then my results started to appear. I have learned from it, and I find that these non-negotiable disciplines of a high achiever is crucial to succeed in what you set in motion.
Reaching My Goals and Those goals I Did Not Achieve
I will definitively put myself in the category of being a high achiever. Since childhood, I have set myself lofty goals, and when I have reached my goals, I have developed new ones, more challenging ones.
I have not reached all my goals, but I have taken the lessons learned from the journey and invested them in my deepest passions and dreams. The outcome manifested when I was at the age of 20, resulted in the achievement of one of the two biggest goals I had; I became a pilot. The next big goal was to become an astronaut.
I didn't become an astronaut, at least not yet. But at 54 years of age, the chanses are diminishing. But why not put this up as one of my ultimate goals related to my business? To provide the means to fund your own trip to space!
But instead I have reached other significant achievements that I haven´t dreamed dream of reaching or doing at all. These achievements have been a result of opportunities that have suddenly appeared, seemingly out of nowhere, because of my focus on my goals.
Opportunities Appears When Not Expected

I have grabbed the opportunities that have presented themselves during my life, with a couple of exceptions. Because I took advantage of the opportunities, my life has moved in the right direction concerning what I have envisioned for my family and myself. Further, it has granted me possibilities, opportunities and personal growth on a level I couldn't imagine.
The growth on a personal level has continued and re-ignited after becoming a member of Wealthy Affiliate. After a period with "cruise control" on a set speed, the personal growth has again started to increase. It is being noticed by colleagues at work, at my Dojo where I train and among friends.
Change in Mindset Gets Noticed and Open Doors
I talk about what I do with Wealthy Affiliate, when it comes as a natural part of the conversation I have with other people. And people do listen, because I am deeply engaged in what I say. Word of mouth is powerful, and since this is something I enjoy to do, I am going at it at full throttle.
I know what I want, I have exposed to myself my procrastinating habits and taken actions to address them. I have my firm goals set, I keep track of my progress, and I am doing tasks every day to progress in my new lifestyle as a digital marketer and digital entrepreneur.
What is perfect in all of what's happening now is that my daytime job is similar in several areas to digital entrepreneurship and digital marketing. It is a good match, and I am benefiting from both careers.
I have grown further from where I was when starting my pivoting moment. And what I see now, is that there are not any door that is closed to me anymore. It just a matter of mindset and diligence.

101 Tutorials and Five Disciplines of High Achievers
Cassi wrote in one of her latest blog posts about not limiting your mindset but open the doors you have put in place yourself. Her 101 tutorials address how to take action to remove the self-inflicted limiting beliefs. The 101 tutorials can be compared to the five disciplines of a high achiever, disciplines which we need to take heed of if we want to succeed:
- The Discipline of Believing
- The Discipline of Removing Interruptions
- The Discipline of Time Management
- The Discipline of Eating Healthy
- The Discipline of Ignorance
I think you all recognize these five disciplines. There has been written a lot about these disciplines in many other WA blog posts, and also outside of WA. In my opinion they can't be repeated enough. And Cassi has sorted them out in her 101 tutorials, and given the different disciplines more "meat on the bone" and
Some Final Words
I will not elaborate on the five disciplines of a high achiever in this blog post, but leave you to contemplate them on your own. I think they speak a for themselves. Take the time to sit down, read the disciplines and jot down on paper what each of them mean to you and why you joined Wealthy Affiliate.
I think you will find some surprising answers from yourselves :-)
Have a great day!

Jim Rohn has some of the BEST information. Even if we feel like we don't have an issue, I believe there is ALWAYS room for imporvement.

I have troubles with 2, 3, and 4. As for number 5, I am unaware of any problems.
Just thinking - Thanks so much I will write these down for contemplation...

Thank you for sharing Roysin!
You became a pilot? Wow!! that's amazing! I like listening to documentaries about the space for hours and hours and I would listen to it again and again for many repetitive times. I really liked those 5 disciplines and I think I am good in discipline no. 1 and 4.
For the rest, I am trying to build.
Thanks again for sharing,
Meena
Awesome post, Roy, at least I have ONE of those 5 non-negotiable disciplines--I BELIEVE!
Enjoy your weekend!

Wonderful post Roy! I love it. I think many famous high performance coaches today are using this formula as well . I can relate to much of what you say here about opening doors and how a shift in mindset can change everything. As I see it is about self awareness and make a conscious decision to put yourself in the mental, physical and emotional state you want to be.When you do that you will experience growth and congruence in many areas of your life.
Appreciate your very good addition to the post, Hilde. Your comment put the spotlight on the essence of the blog post, mindset and dicipline = personal growth and self awareness.
