A Few Thoughts On The New Hubs
It’s been a couple of months since I have blogged on the Wealthy Affiliate platform, so I thought I would write down a few things about the new hubs.
Something that always amazes me about the Wealthy Affiliate platform is the fact that it continues to improve and add more features. When I started on the platform over nine years ago, even then, it had a huge amount of functionality and a lot to offer. I was more than happy with all the training and how everything worked. However, Kyle and all the team have continued to make the platform even better than ever!
AI Reservations
As some of you know, I certainly have a few reservations about AI, and even now, I think it needs to be used with care. However, if it wasn’t for the Wealthy Affiliate training, I don’t think I would have even touched AI at all! The training has certainly opened my eyes to how AI can save time on many tasks and be a great helper.
New Hubs
I guess that the new hubs are the largest change that I have ever seen on Wealthy Affiliate. I’m sure there must have been a terrific amount of work going on in the background to make the hubs work smoothly. So far, I don’t think I have had any issues with the hub’s not functioning properly.
It’s great to have all the training all in one place, I’m sure this is much easier for new members to navigate around the site, rather than getting sidetracked. I remember when I first started on the platform, I kept finding new features that I didn’t know existed for a few years, believe it or not!
The website structure and organisation is a brilliant idea, as much of the brainstorming is almost done for you. The various categories and the potential posts for each category is a real time saver and can certainly help a new member get off to a flying start!
I don’t host all my websites at Wealthy Affiliate, so in theory, I can’t use the hubs for those websites. However, I have created a siterubix domain which enables me to use the hubs and then just save any posts to a draft, rather than publishing. I can then copy the content over to my own .com website.
Start Writing!
It really is very easy just to choose a category, although I would recommend sticking with that category and creating a few posts within the category. In this way, you can link the posts together more easily. So once I have chosen a category, I can then choose my post subject and add it to my to-do list and from there, I can write my article.
I am then given the choice of how long I would like my article to be, from 100 to 2900 words. And then all I have to do is create a content outline, which is AI’s task. In a few moments, I will have my content outline! So, I now have my Author settings, so I can either write the article myself or I can create it with the AI author.
What I have found with the AI authors is that if it’s something quite technical or quite niche-related, it’s not really possible to use AI effectively. However, if the subject is more general, then the AI writer can definitely be really helpful. I have generally been choosing the professional copywriter to write my outlines, it would be interesting to know which writer other members are using. I have tried the conversational blogger, but I’ve preferred the professional copywriter. I can now create my article.
Edit Your Article Big Time!
Once my article is produced I go in and edit the article, big time. I want the article to be written by me! I believe there are some people who might just be spewing out article after article, long-term, I believe there will be a price to pay as it’s important to keep our information genuine and based on our experience.
For example, for some reason, AI loves words like delve, eco-friendly, helping the environment, these are not words that I want to use! I have no idea what makes a Wealthy Affiliate review eco-friendly and how it helps the environment, that’s just beyond me! However, it does show how AI has been set up and that it has a particular slant, which means we have to take even more care in how we use AI.
To Conclude
When I use the AI writer, I edit and add and take away lots of content that AI has produced, as I really want the content to be mine. The great thing is that for many niches, AI can really get you off to a head start and give you something big to help make your writing ideas flow. I would just be really careful how you use AI, I see many blog posts written on Wealthy Affiliate that are almost pure AI, it shows massive time!
Recently I was writing a review about Wealthy Affiliate, I thought it was time to update my review and write a new review for 2024. The AI writer was fairly accurate, but it did add some bits that were not true, so I obviously removed those parts. I think my review is up to about 5000 words; without any doubt, using the AI writer helped to speed up the process, even though I have changed and edited numerous parts.
On quite a few blog posts, AI has written things that I totally disagree with. AI is just telling me things that are not true whatsoever. This is why it is so important to go through our content so carefully, we do not want to put out false information which goes against her genuine experience. So, use AI and the AI writer with extreme care, but also take advantage of the AI tools that are available to us.

How are you finding the AI writer and the hubs in general?
Are you editing the content that AI is producing?
Which AI writer do you prefer, the professional copywriter all the conversational blogger?

PS: I thought I would try again to add H2 titles, which I added. However, once I publish my blog post the AI titles have disappeared! Does anyone else have this issue? I don't normally bother to add H2 titles, as this always happens, but I thought I would give it a try again!

That is one line that appears in all of my AI generated content.. and I always delete it ... but you know... if you take the time to read through it and make it your own.. this is a small price in my opinion. :)

I must admit that I am finding the Wealthy Affiliate AI writer, in general, very helpful. It kind of gives me something to get started and to get flowing in writing! I agree, we can change things and make it her own and I believe that's how it should be. As the Wealthy Affiliate training always says that AI is an assistant rather than something that is taking over.
All is well at this end; thank you, Chris. My wife is heading to Thessaloniki on Monday. Apparently, it's been 19° C there today, so it's pretty good for the time of year. That's 20° C plus more than it's been here in the UK!
I trust that sunny Rhodes is good. It would be great to meet you in Rhodes for a beer one day in the not-too-distant future, Chris! The word delve sounds very AI-like!!😃

Everyone uses AI a little differently.
I agree with using it to help do the research and then carefully fact checking whatever you’re not sure of.
I always edit AI content so that it is in my own voice and based on my experience.😎

I think it's so important to make sure that what we are writing is correct to the best of our knowledge as no one should want to be giving false information.

I found AI to have errors and a different opinion than I do but I kind of expected that. It will always slant the way the programer slants it. I guess our job is to slant it back to our own opinion. I love the outlines it gives and the way it gets me started and prompts a lot of ideas in addition to my own. It's making everything easier for me so I love it!

I know where you're coming from, Veronica, AI can very much have a different opinion. I guess that's our job to correct what AI is writing!

Hi, Roy! I am using AI because it saves me a lot of time. However, I do much as you do...I select my topic and like to do at least 1,000 words. Then I rewrite everything...I usually change the title, because I want a keyword I have chosen in there. I rewrite each paragraph, saying much the same thing but in my words. Sometimes the AI phrasing is very good, so will keep that part of a sentence. I also add something about the topic from my own experience as much as possible. I remove their sub-headings and add my own. I also add additional subheadings.
Perhaps I do the following because I haven't learned how to do it differently: I copy the whole post and put it in WordPress. Then I add images and do any additional changing. I don't want to publish before the post gets into WordPress. If I did, would have to go to the post and return it to a draft so I could continue working on it. I had to do the same thing when using WA's site content place. I always put it into WP first before publishing.
It saves me time simply to put the post into WP and do additional changes plus add images from there.
P,S, Looked at the conversational blogger one time and found it too far from my writing style. So I don't use it. When I put the post into WP, I always have to designate which size I want -- H2 or H3, and put it in bold. I usually use H3 because the subtitle often goes over a line in length if I use H2, and I don't like that.

I'm glad that AI is saving you time, it is also for me, Fran. It is helpful that AI kind of gives us a head start and a baseline to start writing. I have changed some of the subheadings and also added more.
I normally write in a document and then plaintext into WordPress. Publishing using site content has never worked for me. I know that many members love it, but I just can't get it to work and some of my sites are hosted elsewhere.
I think I tried the conversational blogger a couple of times, but found that the professional blogger was more my style.
