Traffic To My Website ?
If you had a shop on the High Street, you would want people to come and buy, so you would advertise in the newspaper, magazines, radio etc. Or possible customers might just be walking by and see something in the window of your shop. So traffic would be coming and going all the time and you and your sales team would be right there to serve them face to face. I understand that process.
The basic online shopping process I also understand. My website is my shop. People will visit my shop. See something catches their fancy. They click on the link. They buy. I get commission. Easy.
Not so easy ! How do I get people to visit my website? Yes, I need to get indexed on Google. Not sure how to do that. Create content they say. I think I'm doing that. When will I know whether I've been indexed by Google? How will I know? Get your website out there onto Facebook. That would mean involving all my friends. My Facebook is a page where I socialise it's not where I do business. Or should it be maybe? Put the site out there on Pinterest, Twitter etc. Is this the way to go, or should we just use the WA Comment Pages where we make 2 comments to get one back? Or is it okay to ask folk who we are following to take a look ? Or should we be spending money and get hold of email addresses? Seems like quite a good idea, except for the money we'd need to spend. Get an email and write a short note with our website attached?
So it's the getting people to visit my website that is in the forefront of my mind right now.
What do others think? How do you all get your traffic? Or is that a secret ?

You can check if you are indexed, by clicking on SiteRubix, then Site Manager. You will see toward the right: Google Index with YES or NO above it.

Have joined Google + but need to spend more time figuring out how it works. Will make time for Kyle's training session.
Am an Amazon affiliate. A bit nervous as have been informed that I could lose this if I don't make a sale by July 15th. I believe that I am offering visitors (if there are any) something that they need or want. I will google "what's hot on Amazon.com to see what is really selling in my niche.

Get someone you know to buy something from Amazon, so they don't cancel you. Make sure that they do it from another computer, not yours. You can always just pay them back. I think that would be better than having them cancel you and then reapply. Not sure how that would affect the links that you already have.
I would create a facebook page for business or even a separate facebook account! One for social, and one for business! :)

i can relate to this post so much right now seeing as I'm in the stage where my site just needs more quality content written. my site is index in google. i have one post in position 10 1st page of google but still only receive 2-5 visits per day. all my social media accounts are setup and i usually receive 1-2 visits a day from social media. I personally made all new social media account for my website as i need an account to socialize with friends and not bring any business into that account. my sites only 3 months old so im interested to see what others have to say. it would be good to learn more about how to attract more free traffic.
Hi Lee, you're a few steps ahead of me. My site is also indexed but how do you know that you have a post in position 10? How'd you find that out?
You also have all your social media accounts set up which is great. Something I need to do. Which ones do you use ? Terry also mentioned to possibly make new accounts and keep these separate from the friends accounts, which you have already done.
I'm on holiday at the moment so taking a little time out.

Hi Roy, some of the ideas for traffic in this post just won't work, like buying traffic. And do you know you can create a business page for your website that is unrelated to your personal fb page.
It's not guesswork for traffic, content has to be good. And SEO has to be optimized.
One thing all the superaffiliates say is they mastered the training, so got to do that too
I want to create a webpage which folk visit because they WANT to visit. Easier said than done though. Some people will visit the "shop" and sit and have a coffee and a chat and then off they go. Others will browze and off they will go without buying. And yet others will visit, have a chat about a product, purchase it, and off they will go. Really depends on the reason for visiting I guess. The fact is though that any one of those coming to the "shop" could be prospective buyers, even if they don't know that when they enter through the door.
As long as they all enjoy the experience, that's what counts. Let the bones fall where they wish.
I find emailing a comfortable way of inviting folks to visit. I'm certainly not keen on buying traffic although that might work a treat.
When you say, "The SEO has to be optimized," what do you mean? Never heard that expression before.
