5 YEARS in Wealthy Affiliate (3 INCREDIBLE Things that happened!)

Today Wealthy Affiliate notified me that I've had a premium membership here for 5 years.

In this post, I decided to quickly share 3 major things about how Wealthy Affiliate has changed my life in a positive way.

I share this just to inspire you and anyone who might be reading this. It has been more than worth it and I look forward to coming months and years with excitement. I'll probably stay as a member here for a lifetime.

But before sharing 3 things, I want to explain how things started out for me...

The Beginning Was HARD! Then It Became Easier

When I started in Wealthy Affiliate, here are a couple of things to point out:

1. I was a complete beginner with online business or affiliate marketing things.
   
2. I didn't even know what affiliate marketing means!
   
3. I was skeptical if people here are even real. (Now I've met dozens of Wealthy Affiliate members in real life too!)
   
4. I made many mistakes that cost me A LOT of time. By avoiding those mistakes I would have saved hundreds of hours and also money. I've shared a lot of those mistakes on my YouTube channel and here in my Wealthy Affiliate blog posts. For example, targeting the wrong keywords/not targeting keywords at all.
   
5. I didn't know ANYONE in person that would make money online using affiliate marketing or living a "digital nomad lifestyle".

In a nutshell...

If you are starting in Wealthy Affiliate now, YOU ARE ALREADY AHEAD OF ME COMPARED TO WHEN I STARTED.

Despite tons of mistakes and doubts in the beginning I decided that I wanna see this through. "What if it would work..." Think about it!

What if you could start making money online?
What if you could quit my 9-5 job?
What if you would never need to work for someone else anymore?

I just decided to make things happen.

Below are 3 things on how my life has changed:

Again, I just want to share these things to inspire you and let you imagine for a while how YOUR life can change once you go "all in" with your affiliate marketing business.

You hopefully get some value out of this post and this can make you work harder towards your goals too!

1. I Have a Freedom to Live Anywhere in the World

I come from Finland which is one of the most northern countries in the world. Go to Google Maps and type "Oulu, Finland". That's my city. There are not that many big cities in the world that would be norther. On the map, it's on the same level as Alaska.

Now it's September and the weather is getting colder in Finland and I have the freedom to fly to the South like migratory birds. I prefer +20 degrees than -20 degrees, lol!

In the past few years, I traveled literally around the world. I visited numerous different countries and dozens of cities. This would have never been possible in a normal 9-5 job.

Thanks to Wealthy Affiliate (Kyle's training especially) for teaching me how to make money online and giving this freedom!

It was my dream to travel and it became true.

2. I Have an Online Business That Generates Me Money While I'm Sleeping

When I grew up I thought that the only way to make money is by "getting a job".

The though goes like this, "When you go to work, you earn money. If you stop working, you stop earning money."

Now I know that even if I would completely stop working, my online business would keep on generating me money for months and years to come even after I'd stop working.

That's quite a liberating feeling!

3. I Can use My Laptop to Make Money for the Rest of My Life

This is probably the biggest thing.

I know that I never need to look for a job.

I know that I can always build new income streams if I want just by using my laptop.

Just think about this for a moment...

If you are just starting out think for a moment, how would that kind of freedom feel for you?

Or if you are already living the "laptop lifestyle", just be thankful for a moment for what you've achieved.

In 1 sentence:

When you make money online, you have the freedom to decide how to spend your time and live your life.

What Next?

Obviously, I keep on building things and always moving forward. I'm currently excited for a couple of things... One of them that I want to mention here is YouTube channel. As you've probably noticed, I've been building my YouTube channel quite actively during the last 6 months.

Subscribers have more than tripled this year and monthly views went from around 45,000 monthly views in March to around 200,000 monthly views in August.

I'll keep on building my channel and reach 100,000 YouTube subscribers at the latest in 2021.

My plan is to create at some point a comprehensive YouTube course at some point where I'll be sharing step-by-step process for anyone who wants to build a successful YouTube channel.

That's one of my main goals for the future...

I'm going to stay in this "Internet marketing industry" for decades to come and I hope you're in the same boat as me!
