1,500,000 views on YouTube! :O

My channel reached today 1,500,000 views so I wanted to share with you a few thoughts on building a YouTube channel. (Note: This is views on the channel in total, not for just 1 video.)
YouTube Expectation vs Reality
All of us have heard of YouTubers who became viral with one viral video.
Some random teenager creates a funny video and gets 10,000,000 views and he becomes an overnight success.
Then people get an impression that this is how YouTube works... You just need to become lucky once and you can make tons of money, right?
Well, not really.
That story is true probably for 0,001% of the people. The chances are probably the same as winning the lottery.
Expectation:
Create 1 video => Get 10,000,000 views => Become a successful YouTuber
But for 99,9% of the YouTubers story goes more like this:
Reality:
Create 5 videos and get around 0 views.
Create 5 more videos and get a little bit more views.
Create 5 more videos and make things a little bit better...
At this point, 95% of the YouTubers have already quit because they think, "YouTube wasn't the right thing for them."
But those who have the perseverance to keep on creating and improve happens the following:
There was a study of over 3 million YouTube channels and they saw the average number of videos that YT channels have with a certain amount of subscribers: The average channel that has 100,000 - 1,000,000 YouTube subscribers has on average 1,100 videos.
Views Are NOT Equal - Understand the Difference
Often people ask, "How much can I earn for 1,000,000 views on YouTube?"
You may earn $0.
Or you may earn $100,000.
Or something in between.
I know that answer isn't satisfying so I created a video for you where I explain you this more in detail.
- A funny video with 1,000,000 views may make you LESS money AND make LESS impact than a video with 1,000 views that is targeting the right people.
Tomorrow Starts a New Month... Let's Go!
Today is the last day of July and tomorrow is the first day of August.
I challenge you now to do this:
- Write down, what did you do in July?
- Write down things that you should do MORE and write down things that you should do LESS in August.

Brilliant,
You must have done something like 200,000 views in past 3 weeks as I seen you were cruising to your next million views - and it was not really that long ago you were celebrating 1M views either - maybe 3/4 months.
Well done!.
From your description, YouTube is a bit like blogging where you can create one post that gets thousands of visitors and some people can earn a full time income from small blogs of 200-250 posts and get 100k traffic, where as most people will require 2x or 3x that.
Great post, Roope! A bit of deja vu going on there as well.
Congratulations on getting all those views (I think I must have counted for 4 of them! 😁)
This month my focus is to get into the writing, editing and publishing cycle. I see it as a wheel that is going to spin faster as each day goes by.
That's it... I'm not going to let anything else distract me. (except maybe going to watch that one video you've share in this post)

Congratulations, now that's a lot of total views!, I don't think it was that long ago since you had 1 million views Roope? So it looks like your channel is growing quickly as you grow your channel, I believe.
My plans for August are hopefully to spend some time in Greece and to take my laptop and get some work and videos done!

Awesome job. You have kept to the training and to your goal. You also did not stop when it seemed as if there was no progress. You KEPT TRYING and did not give up. You post should be a lesson to all that persistence and dedication will help you overcome the obstacles in your way. YOU MUST KEEP PRESSING FORWARD.
