Be very careful what you SAY
When I was serving in the Royal Navy, (during the dark ages-no they didn't have wooden ships!!) I met a young lady and when my shipmates ask me about her I usually said: “She'll make a good wife for someone but it won't be me.”
Later I married her and shortly after we were married I sailed of to the Far East. During my time away from the UK, one of my sisters got married and, of course, my wife went to the event. A cousin, who had never seen my wife before and did not know who she was, said, at their first meeting: “I'm going to marry you some day!” My wife then told him that he had no chance as she was already married to me.
Fast forward about 40 years and my wife and I are divorced and she is now happy married to my cousin and has been for about fifteen years! I am very pleased for both of them.
The power of the tongue. I believe I put a curse on my self when I said: “She'll make a good wife for someone but it won't be me.” The consequences are there for all to see.
During my working life I had a job with a telephone marketing company trying to get appointments for company’s representative to call. My sales were about average until one day the young supervisor said: “You can all do this job!” I believed her and consequently my sales rocketed! My environment hadn't changed, the prospects were just the same as before – the only difference my my changed attitude.
The power of the tongue.
How many dear folk do you know who say: “I'm taking the flue!” or “I have a headache!”? At the moment, probably due to the inclement weather, there is a lot of illness going about where I live. Some people have been in bed for weeks. It's a serious problem but I do not get ill because I have said 'I will not be ill'. Every year my health centre ask me if I want an anti-flue jab. I always say “No!”
"Life and death are in the power of the tongue".

Yes, thoughs are powerful, especially when they were told loud. It does not matter how it is difficult, is best to keep positive attitude. It works.
So, be very careful what you say, it is recorded.
Speak only good things ! If there's nothing good to say, Keep quiet!

Words are very powerful.....those you speak to others as well as your internal communication. Once spoken, they can't be taken back either. Interesting story about your cousin.
Only that words, although extremely powerful, cannot make all things happen. My biggest example is death. Not matter what is said or believed, death comes to us all. I wish and believe my grand daughter will be well and do well each and every day, do all I can to make it so, but there are times that my words and beliefs cannot control her health.
So sorry for the late reply - grand daughter in home makes for little time to spend at the computer!
