An Aahaaa Moment with Bard and Chat GPT.

I have been occasionally experimenting with AI for the last few months with varying levels of success. At first I thought wow! This is fantastic the AI can just write for me.
Then, on closer examination of the writing, I could see that there was much repition and the output wasn't particularly natural. It was kind of robotic (surprise surprise) and written in a unnatural stye.
The Aha Moment
Yesterday however, after a few back and forths Bard produced a mini review of a product that I really liked the style of. Instead of asking Bard to replicate it I typed "this is exactly what I'm looking for", "what instructions do I need to give you to get reviews of products just like that from now on"
Bard told told me to give these instructions from now on.
- Use simple and concise language that is easy to understand for a general audience.
- Avoid using jargon or technical terms that may not be familiar to my readers.
- Use active voice and strong verbs to make your writing more engaging.
- Break up long sentences into shorter ones to improve readability.
- Use bullet points or numbering to organize your information in a clear and concise way.
- Use examples and anecdotes to illustrate your points and make your writing more relatable.
- Use a conversational tone that is friendly and approachable.
- Avoid using clichés or overused phrases.
- Proofread your work carefully to ensure that it is free of errors.

Of course I also copy and paste my prompt from Jay's videos " you are writing for a blog about ........ your style is ...... etc".
But even just putting - you are writing for a blog about *****. Then adding those above instructions does the job very well.
The Real Aha
The real Aha is that rather than treating AI as something to just give instructions to, I now ask it how I should instruct. e.g. - What do you need from me to do X?
So instead of guessing what instruction I need to give, I ask "What instructions do I need to give you to get X writing style" or "to get this output."
I think they key is to treat AI as a mentor assistant. They literally know everything so ask away.
e.g. How do I do this? What do I need to do to get xxx result?
Maybe this was covered in videos on here before but the penny didn't particularly drop until now.
Anyway I hope that may be of help to others.
Thanks.
P.S. I also tried it with Chat GPT and the results were just as good.
