Last 10 days or so, traffic started dissapearing from my website, then I thought well it`s only temporary.

Yesterday when I checked my analytics, I got less than 100 impressions from pinterest..now something is seriously wrong.

Went to Pinterest and decided to have a good look around and it did not take me long.I found a fake name I guess. Here`s the profile

ut what I don`t understand is why me? this person ONLY has my pins, not from other bloggers, not her own, she has 236 images and all are mine.

The ones she could crop she did,the ones where my url was too high to crop, she did not care, just redirected my images to Amazon products. Not to mention that Pinterest does not allow promoting Amazon products directly.

I really wonder what Pinterest plans to do about this.I used to get thoudands of impressions a day from Pinterest now it has dwindled to few hundreds.Today I had just 69 Pinterest impressions.

I`m really mad right now and the sad thing is that there is even nothing I can do about it apart from report them to Pinterest and they get banned,, but who cares I`m sure they have XXX accounts in Pinterest. It`s said really.

Now I will have to remove all the images, what a pain

Hey Roamy, without using any swear words I'll just say that is a "bee one tee see aitch!"
I don't know how Pinterest works so can't give you any technical advice but I hope your account can recover and you get back to your previous impression count and beyond in the future.
Hope you have a better week
Mark

The problem really is this, people re-pin images they like, so my pins will still be circulating there but with the wrong URL, still being re-pinned it`s hard to recover from such a thing, I can only create new pins.

Is there not a Pinterest rule about not changing URLs in pins or is it a free for all where changing URLs is all part of the game?
Can Pinterest stop members from placing their own URLs within other member's pins and if not, why not?
If it's against their rules can the other member be banned and your pins reinstated intact?
Mark

The rule is there, but I feel only for people who honestly want to benefit from Pinterest long term and don`t want their accounts banned, but for these cheats and thieves, they do have several Pinterest accounts so if one gets banned, I feel they just move on to the next account.
I`m also wondering why Pinterest can not find a way to stop URLs being redirected.
The worst to happen to me was when I advertised on Pinterest and someone then changed the pin URL and re-directed it .
When I contacted Pinterest about this(my promoted pin being re-directed) they told me..................the pin I`m talking about was not there, they could not find it so maybe it was never there in the first place.
I felt so small and being made to feel so stupid I did not even pursue it further because I knew they were not being honest.

That sounds like a poor excuse from them Roamy, you wonder if they actually care about their members.

That is so sad and awful

You`re right, it`s awful and hurtful.

There's little else worse than unscrupulous people who can do nothing better than to take advantage of others who work hard to get where they get, and take it all away. This angers me! Ditto with Aussiemuso.

I can understand an image here and there, but the whole account is filled with only my pins, there is not a single pin of her own or from other people.
Looking at the pins this is done by someone very calculating and out to do me harm(online). their board could well be my private boards given the images.

I don't know very much about Pinterest but that, when in the beginning, I did it and it is a lot of work, enough work that, when it gets advanced, it represents an accumulated volume of work involved. And that someone comes along and just swipes it all, yes that is calculated and whoever is responsible, does this to far more than just yourself and pretty much get away with it because they just keep making new accounts. Pinterest has been around for almost ten years now. Hopefully they have some sort of algorithm that prevents the same people coming back on and doing this again to you or others!

I don't know what people get out of being so miserable in life. They can't create their own, so taking people's stuff is alright in their eyes. Pinterest should really deactivate that person's account for a long time just to teach them a lesson. Take care and best of luck.

I`m sure that kind of person has several accounts, one gets deactivated, they just move to the next. I feel they are fake accounts.

So very sorry and sad for you. There are always a few people who take. Hopefully you can come back stronger.

Hugs
Lily 😊🎶

I`ve come to accept that Pins do get stolen, but that someone could steal over 200 pins from a single person, fill a full account with the stolen pins,I could not imagine.
