Amazon Affiliate Program Commission Now Even Lower
Now this is not what any Amazon affiliate would like to read but Amazon just reduced affiliate commissions!!! WTF.
I`ve forever ssaid I`m leaving Amazon to concentrate on other programs but with so many links to change should I leave Amazon, the thought of it just gets me tired before I even start.
But 3% commission and 1% on some items is a no-no.This in my opinion, is disrespect and an insult to affiliates who work so hard to bring in sales. How am I supposed to make money with their short cookie period and now a 1% commission.
No excuse this time, I`m not going to write a post on my site, not going to do any work on my site apart from removing all the Amazon affiliate links I have on my site.
This will be hard work as I have to find the products in other places, which is not as always easy as it is on Amazon, but it`s a must now, there is no excuse and no thinking I have too many links to change.
Amazon affiliates, what do you think about this change, how bad will it affect your income and are you looking elsewhere for different affiliate programs?
The worst news for me, exactly my niche is hit hard. Health and personal care is now only 1% commissions. I`m in skin care niche so most of my sales and the products I promote are in personal care.
As from tomorrow, for me there is no more blogging until I get out of Amazon, I just can`t accept this. Just hope I can make $30 more to reach my Minimum withdrawal which I did set when I joined 5 years ago.

I just did a post actually saying exactly the same. I've gone from 8% to 3%.
At the moment I make more money form just one page that uses a different affiliate program to Amazon than the other twelve pages that use Amazon. And that's before the reduction in commission.
Could be an opportunity to grow and get out of the comfort zone of using Amazon.
Still very annoying!
You said it well, most of the products I sell are from Amazon, but when I sell a product from other affiliates, the commissions are so much higher, but I`ve also learned that for some reason, shoppers trust Amazon more than they do other smaller, less-known platforms.
Hello Roamy,
I personally do not like and did not like working with Amazon. I only have about three products with them and I had no intention of increasing their number.
I prefer to spend more time looking for good quality products from others affiliate programs, which have much,...much higher commissions. Some of them even raised the commission.
I am sorry to hear that most members will face the same problem as you. Always it is good to take action sooner rather than later.
Or it may just be a drop for now. You can study other programs anyway. But I am sure you will make the wise decission.
Best Regards,
Diana.
Honest some products are just almost not available on other platforms. My niche is very small, products are not that rampant in other affiliate platforms.
Hello Roamy,
I can understand your frustration. I don't know for what Brand are you looking for, but Skin Care niche has many Affiliate Programs.
Maybe you should reconsider the brand. It is just an idea.
Have a great day,
Diana.
I imagine that. But if you will stay angry, you won't change nothing. You know how it is said: instead of focus our attention on the problem, focus in finding better solutions.😉
I wish all the best for you.
Greetings,
Diana.
I was rejected for bring no sales in for amazon three TIMES! Roamy.
My mentor John Chow told me this important step on my journey in Affiliate Marketing: never put all your eggs in one basket.
I would continue to build out the content and move forward with new affiliate programs that is willing to pay more.
As long as they are paying you a commision rate that is a good thing. Kyle taught us this in the training as a warning.
Use this as a learning tool.
I totally agree to never put all your eggs in one basket but that`s exactly what I did knowing real well what the consequences could be.
I blame myself, I never liked Amazon commissions, but I stayed because their product selection, ease of finding products was keeping me there.
Time for me to look else where
I find it interesting that Amazon is showing no concern for affiliates once again. Amazon was one of the first companies that I was affiliate for.
Everything was going fine until some States started asking for sales tax from online sales.
What was Amazon’s answer back then? They just fired all of the affiliates that lived in the states that wanted sales tax payments. My best guess back then was they would rather not have affiliates than pay taxes.
Now, they are cutting affiliates again... what a shame
It`s a hard for me personally to understand that anyone can be that mean.this is business I understand all that, but where did being a decent business person treating people brining him money stop?

This is absolutely ridiculous. I can't believe Amazon did this to us yet again. I've grown to hate large companies who don't care about anything but their profits and to hell with anyone or anything else. That is no way to run and keep a business going.
Can you please tell me what their new cookie policy is now?
We need to buckle up for more changes both the real world and the virtual world.
yep, you got that right.
Change is ok, misuse of any kind of power is not ok. They have the power to misuse our services as affiliates, lucky for us we have a choice to walk away.
