Getting content done. One post after another. One page after another.

Content: This is what I am struggling with the most. I have written a few of the pages myself, but it takes ages to do (some of) them.

I then decided to outsource some of the pages - it works ok I guess. Not pleased with everyone, but for the most part, the writers did a good job.

All articles/content I bought also passed copyscape.

I still have a few bought articles/pages done, but haven't had the time to actually pasting them into WP, because it still takes a bit of time, I have to check if the information is ok etc.

So, still som "blank" pages, but for the most part, I got all content so far.

The pages is about dog breeds (and dogs) I before I actually had written the content, I made some pages just to plan the user interface, the menus and how it all should work.

http://ondogbreeds.com - still a few blank ones, but at least I got content for all of them now. More breeds will follow shortly after I have filled up the blanks...

I actually had to stop Course 3 - because I want to have content done first.

Not sure if Google can or will punish me for having so many blank posts?

Yes I agree with Gordi, I started by having so many ideas about pages and layouts and was going to put all my pages on and organise them but decided that having all the pages blank until I got round to writing content for them was not a good idea. I would stick with just adding pages as you create the content for them

If you follow your lessons you will be ok. I think it's better to add a page or a post once you have one written.
I can't see having blank pages as being good. Just my opinion.

I do agree. But as they are already published, not sure what is worst. However, I have all the content done for the blank pages, but going away this weekend so don't have to time to punch them in.

Google is so fickle at times,, you do have a good site sure it will all come together nicely

Thanks, the blank pages should not be blank for long I hope, got content ready, just have to have the time to actually punch it in :)

I think Google DOES punish you for blank *pages*, but I don't know about blank posts. I can't imagine they like it.

Your site is beautiful - great organization, attractive pics. But I think you'll find the difference between contract writers and you is the personalization of the posts. I don't feel "you" in the stock breed description language, which is probably OK. But don't lose the personal for too long. I believe people want to feel connected, and they need to feel your passion for dogs in your writing. I see it a bit in the "How to Choose Dog Breed" but you need some grammar clean up. Do you have anyone to help with proofing? It wouldn't take much, just a little. As my editor used to say, "Clean up the errors, but don't lose the VOICE." You have a good, casual style - be more confident with it!

Just my two cents.

English is not my native tongue (I'm Norwegian), but I received a tip here the other day about paperrater.com - will run the posts through and check for grammar.

The breed posts are actually pages and they are meant to be "that" way or something similar - at least somewhat neutral. When I'm done doing all the breeds, the normal posts will just push them out of the first page anyhow.

Thanks for the tips.

I just ran your "How to Choose . . . " article through that paperrater site, and it worked really well. I think that's a great solution!

You should not publish blank pages or posts. Save them as drafts and remove from the menu. Yes Google doesn't like this.

Thankfully, not that many blank ones left :)

I also struggle with content writing and it can take me hours to do just one article so I was considering outsourcing too. Where do you outsource to? I was thinking about using someone off Fiverr.
