Massive list emailing - best email system?

Hello All! Hope everyone is doing well and is in good health.

I have a question about sending emails to a large list. This list could grow into the thousands, tens of thousands, or more, and regular email accounts will not handle the few hundred I have on the list now. I have to break the list into small portions and send multiple emails to get them out.

So my question is...how can I send emails to a massive list of recipients? What is the best way to go about this? Is there a software program or web server that accomplishes this and are they paid/about how much?

I'm not talking about auto-responders. Just sending emails. Not sure if my client wants them to be able to respond or not so need to know the options there as well.

Any help in answering these questions is much appreciated.

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season.

Ann Marie

Hey Renni,

Another one that I've been using is MadMimi.com
It's very easy to use and the support, even with my free account has been great.

Just wanted to share with you another one you might want to look into.

Be blessed,
Audrey

Thanks so much, Audrey!

Hi.

I think it would be hard to avoid auto-responders - because sending that level of email through your own domain, may get it black listed as spam.

I know with my old 1and1 account, I could not send out any more than around 10 emails per minute - or they would block them for that very reason.

Auto-responders don't just respond to an initial registration.

You can easily just send out emails to segments of your list, or your whole list - when it suits you. And if you use a well known responder, such as Aweber or MailChimp - they are reputable, and not likely to get you blacklisted.

They have various plans, based on the number of subscribers to your email list.

I hope that helps,

All the best, Mark

Thanks for the recommendation, Mark! I will look into them.

Would it have to be thru a web site? Is there a service that is simply email but for massive amounts of recipients to send to... and recipients may be responding to some directly.

.this is a national movement and our list is growing nationwide so.....

Hi - most systems need to qualify who is subscribing to them, by sending them an email to the one provided - to ensure they did actually sign up for the email list.

This stops "you" just importing thousands of email addresses of people that may not be interested in the service.

That means when the person receives an email from you, they know they have signed up for it - and therefore won't report it as spam - so the email provider doesn't get blacklisted.

So it's not impossible - but would be difficult to get a load of emails imported, if the subscribers didn't register through a website.

All the best, Mark

Thanks for your response, Mark. Your info is helpful...but
Hmmmmm......the people on our list gave email addresses at events we held and not thru a web site and they do want info on upcoming events and ongoing info ..... the emails we want to send would not be thru a domain....currently I have all email addresses in a Word doc and have to break them up into smaller chunks to send them info and that means multiple emails for me for the same info to all these people. (currently about 500 and growing)
I guess I may be looking for just an email system...IDK
Would MailChimp work for this?

Thanks and have a great day!
Ann Marie

Hi Ann Marie.

MailChimp will allow you to add email addresses - provided you tick a box confirming you have consent to use the email address.

I'm certain Aweber and others will too - but I have added a number of my booking system customers emails to my MailChimp mailing list, with no issue.

All the best, Mark

Looks like that may be the way to go...MailChimp.
Thanks for all your help. You're a Peach! :)

A good autoresponder is still best for sending large mailings. Mailchimp is the one many are recommending now. I have used Aweber, Get Response, and a couple more I can't remember their names. Those who are actively using them could tell you more.

Thanks for letting me know, Teacup!
