At Five Months At Wealthy Affiliate

At long last, I have completed Level 2 of Online Entrepreneur Certification after almost five months. In the course of this journey I had taken a detour. Realizing I had taken a wrong turn, wrong in the sense that time was not ripe to go that part at the time that I did, I had to retrace my steps, and now here I am, just completing Level 2.

My Progress

I have learnt so so much already. I have learnt to do something which, before now, had seemed like rocket science - building a website, all thanks to Kyle who made the process so simple that an elementary school pupil could do it. I built three websites.

Now, you would be wondering why a while three websites in this short time? and you are right. Here is why.

The first is for a program which I had joined before coming to WA, in fact my main reason at the time of joining was to learn to promote that program with the aim of getting referrals so I could earn commissions from their activities, but now my eyes have been opened to the endless possibilities available here.

Anyway, at the end of level 1, I still hadn't learnt to promote it. Then, being exposed to the Bootcamp training, I jumped into it my reasoning being that it would teach me to promote my program since there is a similarity between this affiliate program and that program, but deep within me, I think I took that part as an escape route as I still had not been able to choose a niche.

I should have heeded the advice of well-meaning members of this platform at the time whose views were that I should have completed OEC before going to Bootcamp, but I didn't. I then built another site for promotion of WA. At some point during the training, I saw that it was taken for granted that I already knew certain things, things that were taught within the OEC (I got to know this because I took a peek at some OEC training that I was, at the time I left it, yet to get to ), it was then that I saw the wisdom in their advice. I then had to retrace my steps. This was what I meant by detour.

Returning to OEC, happily I was now able to choose a niche after reading some blogs within the platform. This gave rise to a third site, my niche website.

My niche is in the health category, skincare, with emphasis on care of the aging skin with a view to achieving a beautiful flawless skin the effect of which would be a younger looking skin. This is a subject that I am very passionate about, right from my youth days

My Achievements

Between my three websites, I have written a total of 17,058 words in articles. No, I am not working on all three sites simultaneously, only on my niche website at the moment. All the sites have been indexed by Google. Four out of the five articles on my second website and two out of the four on my first website were indexed. I started my third website about a month ago and so far, I have written five articles (too few I know) with two having been indexed.

Aside the websites which I own on my own domains, I have learnt so so much, stuffs like keyword research, content writing, and a host of others. However, I am yet to make any money, but I know that would certainly come down the road.

Some Wonderful And Some Not So Wonderful Moments

I have never failed to be thrilled whenever I get an email that my website had been indexed or that an article of mine had been ranked by Google. And to say that the members of this platform are supportive would be stating the obvious. I have enjoyed an overdose of it, and from Kyle and Carson as well. I have made a lot of friends here all of whom have been very helpful. I say a big THANK YOU to you all.

My dull moments have been times that I had doubted myself, when I didn't think I had it in me to make a success of this online stuff, and thinking of giving up. But then someone would immediately come along with a blog post and lift me up.

A source of my doubts is 'content writing '. I am not a very good writer. Though I get to write a lot in the course of my offline job, that is a different kind of writing. However, I have had plenty of support and encouragement from members who have assured me that I would improve with time. One that stands out in my memory is the response to my comment to a blog post by Tim Mckinlay, whom I like to refer to as my mentor. It was through him that I learnt of this wonderful platform. Before coming to WA, I would always go to his website and read up all articles there and say to myself what a wonderful writer he was. I was therefore amazed and encouraged when he stated that his earlier articles were really, really bad and that I would improve with time like he did

My Goals ( And Expectations)

Aside the obvious, which is to make money and replace my job with my online business, I am looking to becoming an expert in Internet business and also an authority in my niche so as to enjoy the kind of recognition, even outside of WA, which some members that I follow like LynneHuy, Laurenjean and a host of other members of this platform, do.

Taking about monetary goals, I recall a blog post by Mday849 which I read a few days ago. I just would love to be able to say that is what I earn. I shall work towards that, I am still in training and I intend to follow through with all tasks as and when required, and see what happens in the next 6 months, perhaps one year or two.

There, you have my Progress report. THANKS, EVERYONE.

Well done, Regina. You have accomplished more already. Keep it up and thanks for your positive approach. I am encouraged.

Why, thanks a lot for your kind words. Welcome to WA, you are at the right place.

Congrats on your achievements so far Regina, you have done great. Writing takes practice and you will be there in no time at all!

We all make similar mistakes when we first get started before we find our way. It is often through these mistakes that we learn why we need to do things in a certain way.

Thanks so much Lynne for these words of encouragement.
I really appreciate it.
All the best.

Hi Regina, what a lovely post documenting your Wealthy Affiliate journey. You are not alone in taking a detour here and there. Nothing wrong with that as often that's how we learn.

Have to admit, I'm the Queen of taking detours... It took me 18 months to come back to Online Certification and get it finished. You wisened up a lot faster than me. Good on you.

Interestingly, I'm also about to head back into the Anti Aging industry. Will pop over and check out your niche site.

Thanks for your kind words. It will be great to have you in same niche. That would be an opportunity to rub minds with a guru such as you.
A million thanks.

Good luck Regina, following you passion sounds like a great idea to me

That's right Clifford, your passion, we are thought, should be one of the basis for your choosing a niche, that way you don't fall short of content ideas or lose enthusiasm for the business.
Best of luck.

The step by step approach is always advisable. I am retracing my steps because so much has changed fine I joined in 2015
Is your health website I am curiously see your tips on skin care.I have discovered a secret natural remedy that works wonders and it is cheap and easy to grow.

I shall include my site url on my profile shortly. I shall also be interested in your secret remedy if you will share it with me. I warn your however, that you may not find much on the site since I started it only a month ago.
Looking forward to interacting with you. Thanks for stopping by.
All the best in your endeavours.
Regina

Thank you looking forward to more communications

Push on Regina, you are a few days older than me in WA. Though our journey might be different but our goals are the same. Can't wait to hear more in 6 months or an year of your progress.

Hehehe, I shall update you all in 6 months for sure. Hope I achieve my goals. Thanks Anjeri. God bless.

Overcoming problems and adversity help us to grow. You are seeing the benefit of that right now.

As you write more and more posts it will begin to flow naturally from within.

Best of luck to you!

True Bryan, I am beginning to be a bit more confident about writing now as against when I first started. Thanks to God I did not give up. Thanks for the encouragement.
Best wishes !
Regina

Same to you Regina. I'm going to follow you. If you ever need help feel free to pm me. Even if you just need a word of encouragement. Good luck, best wishes, God Bless!
Bryan
