Does anyone know an attorney in California that specializes in vendor/affiliate relationships? I have a dispute with a vendor and need some legal advice.

Hi Patrick having been involved in some of this in NY I can only recommend speaking to a lawyer who specializes in internet law. They should be the most equipped to answer your questions.

I do not; I am sorry.

I am thinking about writing an article listing the top 10 makers of equipment for my niche. I would include reference to a few products that each one makes that I think are qu

As long as it is kept discreet, simple, and relevant. I personally do not like it because I think it may confuse my visitors vs. focusing on one product and promoting that well.

Other folks may have other opinions.

Abie

The main point of the article would be companies that I believe are worth considering when making a purchase

I get you, and that's awesome, but I believe if they're not focused on the product at hand, they may get confused and click none.

Abie

I don't even have to put products into the article. Quality of the companies is what I am proposing

Okay, it is like a listicle?

Abie

It could be like a listical. I wanted to give a little history too

Okay, but keep it simple; you can always internally link to it your focused reviews or other info. Abie

Sounds like a nice compromise!

No problem, Patrick! And please keep us posted.

I am both incensed and discouraged that an affiliate is claiming that Google AI erroneously attributed quite a few sales to my affiliate link. Out of $5300 in commissions, they

That's the first time I've ever heard of this Patrick. What's the full context behind this situation?

The affiliate is saying that they use paid Google ads, and that somehow, Google AI connected my affiliate link to their ads instead of a direct link to their website. This was apparently no fault of mine or the affiliate. It seems a bit sketchy to me since my affiliate links only appear on my website. They say their conclusion is a result of an investigation into whether I was using Google ads with my link (I have not). They are not blaming me, but are saying I owe them a refund of over $4700 in commissions. I am waiting for their evidence before I do anything.

Yeah that sounds extremely sketchy. I've never heard of such a claim and it sounds extremely farfetched or even a scam. In my none legal opinion, if there's no specific evidence to this claim, then it's nonsense.

Even if they can somehow prove this (again sounds very farfetched), it sounds like Googles problem based on their claims, not yours.

I would follow up on the small print, their terms and conditions of affiliation and find out how's the process actually runs.

Site-kit-reported impressions for my site began to drop in early March, then leveled off, then dropped to near zero after mid-April. I have 50% more indexed content over that s

Oh, they're not to be trusted with those numbers now; you asked another question of the exact nature last week, as far as I can remember, or is it not the case?

You are correct. I just noticed the issue of ranking not being consistent with the numbers. I won’t dwell on it. Thanks for your input

That is no problem, but keep an eye on itit. It will change once the dust settles. You're welcome, Patrick!

That explains a lot!

The only thing that seems inconsistent to me is that during this time period, the average ranking of my pages has increased from 20 to 17. And yet, impressions have gone to nearly zero

Liking to see what your responses are.

I have a promotion for my website on Facebook. It shows 126 clicks on a link to my website in the last 2 days. But when I check Google Analytics, it shows only 13 users in thos

Yeah, that's a big difference; however, I would consider Vitaliy's response. That might as well be the case :)

You may want to keep checking at different intervals to see if that changes. Once thing, it is not in real-time.

Hi Patrick I'll be totally honest with you. Since analytics moved to GA4, the numbers it's showing me are whacky are incorrect so I mostly ignore it. My gut feeling on what you're experiencing is that the timezones of reporting are not in tune with whatever you are seeing the same day for FB clicks.

I don't know what to think. If I click on the link myself, it shows up within 5 minutes. Since GA4, the numbers it reports have plummeted

I wouldn't take the Google numbers seriously. You said so yourself that fb ads got you clicks and if Google isn't showing those then I'd disregard the Google metrics.
