Enjoyed Meeting New People as a Clown

Well, the night did not start as I thought it would. I got all clowned up expecting to go to a children's disabled night at a near by indoor kids play area. Well, my husband, son and I all clowned up and we drove to point B. Then we waited.

Then we thought, well maybe it got closed because of the icy roads, then I called the owner and she said, "remember it is the first Tuesday of the month." And I did go the right Tuesday Last month. I enjoyed myself with the children. I spread out my ocean blanket that had starfish on it. I got our my mimicking parrot and my puppet blondie. The children enjoyed being with me and I enjoyed being with them.

Tonight, I was going to leave Blondie at home and I brought my glitter tattoos. I was also going to introduce them to my purple bird in his nest. My husband Ugg the Clown had gotten a new puppet Bo-Nanna and we were going to bring him out. We had also practiced a skit that was real cute.

Well as I said, we waited and found out we were on the wrong night. What were we going to do now? It just so happened an idea popped into my head. I had met a woman who ran a new Tex Mex Cafe and she had shown interest in having a clown come do some balloon twisting and magic for parties.

We both wanted to find a place to shoot some videos inside and take some pictures. We thought maybe the mall, but figured we needed to get permission first. We were both hungry and so was Critter the Clown my son. We decided to go to the little Tex Mex Cafe.

We drove up there and the first thing I saw was a closed sign. But there were people inside. I decided to walk up to the door, but I guessed there was a private party going on. I had just gotten back into the car, when I ran into the lady I had met before.

She said she was thinking of me earlier that day and had wanted to contact me about some clowning. Well, that was interesting. I asked her was she open. She said this was the first night she had opened after having a water pipe burst weeks before.

I asked her if we could eat there or was she going to cook. She told me to come in. Since she wanted to talk to us about clowning, my husband wanted to show her what he could do with balloon twisting.

Then we found out there was a man who was going to have a birthday the next day. Ugg made him a neat birthday balloon hat and I twisted a dog, a giraffe, and a cat.

Critter the clown had fun being silly with a pair of chopping teeth and another pair of teeth that looked like someone had not brushed in a year. He enjoyed dancing to the Mexican music.

We had pictures made and shot videos. Pretty good for a night that started out as a total flop.

Your family sounds so incredible. That much love for helping people is a gift from God for sure. May God bless you and yours.

Wow, yr family is talented. :) I think you all really have the abilities to make people happy. :) I love what your family are doing, creating so much joy for people, and you can touch many children's hearts. I wld love to see if you have videos, :)
Wonderful job you have, Susan. :)

You really brightened my day. Went back to school today after 2 weeks of being snowed in and I was sooo held back from doing some clowning or antics to get a point across. I have a lead teacher who sees it as something she is afraid the disabled kids will mimick. They love it, and sometimes they mimick, but I bet they won't forget those skills.

You are doing such a great job, this type of job not many people are talented to do, even if they are, they do not have passion to do it. :)
I saw yr pm, yes, I wld love to watch all the videos you have, as I would love to show to my youngest daughter. :) Thanks a million for bring joy to people around the world!! :)

Nice work, I guess your not clowning around!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ha,Ha,Ha

We are pretty serious about our clowning. We are careful what we promote.

OK Cool

Wow that is wonderful how that was all worked out for good! What a grand night
indeed! :)

I was pretty impressed how it all turned around. It was the first night I did any balloon twisting for anyone.

Well that had to fun! :)

It's nice that the night turned around for you. Happy clowning!

Turned out to be some clown gigs possibly every month. We hope to bring more business to my friend Mona Lisa ' s Tex-Mex Cafe. I tell her. Advertise. Let people know clowns will be there. That way the ones who enjoy clowns will come and enjoy magic tricks and balloon twisting and the ones who do not like clowns will come another day.

It was a great night of clowning. Thanks so much!

Flexible clowning.......what next ....glad to hear it all worked out in the end....way to go!

I love the clown picture. Where did you get it? I would like to put it on my site. Flexible clowning. Now that would be fun. Just clown up and go to a park or mall and start sharing some smiles. In our area, we must be very careful. There is some acting that happens mostly with teenage girls. They act like they are afraid so the boys will chase them. Then there are people who have fear of anything with a mask or costume on. For this reason, we must get permission.

Hi Susan,
I got the picture from the following link:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clown

It's in the Public Domain so you can use it "free of charge" as you wish!
The link also has lots of information about clowns, enjoy and keep up the good work, our world needs to smile!

It takes an adaptable person to change directions at the snap of a finger. Well done.

It is exciting as a clown when you turn a corner you did not expect or have someone in your glitter tattoo group who takes an extra joy in just getting attention. I was surprised one night when I was invited to perform for hospice. Going there, all we know about hospice was it is a service that serves someone before they die. Much preparation in the mind knowing they were children. Turned out, it was a camp put on for children who lost loved ones. I serviced children doing glitter tattoos poolside. My husband Ugg the Clown wasn't sure what to do since he planned a magic show. I told him do magic tricks to a group poolside. It was very enjoyable and afterward we received a dear card with all their pictures with personal notes. That is worth more because it stays with you. Money is spent and you forget it.

Hi Susan,
You and your husband certainly have your hearts in the right place....money is a nice to have but it is not everything....keep on doing what you are doing!
Kind regards,
~Arthur

The Lord works in mysterious ways!

It is very true. Mystery. Waiting which direction to go next.

That happens at times for sure, you start out to do something and nothing goes right, but then it gets turned around. Kind of like here at WA. Glad your night wasn't a total flop. Thanks for sharing. :)

Yes, I have experienced the one direction then something else gets me going in a direction I did not see before here at WA. Sometimes I will read a profile or something on someone's website and my mind gets turning....sometimes I do not know it is turning or what it is about. It might be time has to happen or more I read and go to. But I do know my knowledge of different topics has grown since I joined WA.

It takes a special person to be a clown!

Clowns can be just anybody but along the way meet and get to provide a neat balloon dog or hat that lightens someone's day.
