The Power Of Video Marketing - Youtube

To be honest with you, although I have been writing and posting on my blog every single day, I have been stuck on a part of the Bootcamp Training, and that was to start creating videos. I am VERY camera shy and every time I brought myself to at least TRY to make videos, the videos were so bad!!!

I either ended up stuttering or stammering too much and it was hard to understand.... and boring!

OR...

I ran out of my available 15 minutes on Screencast-o-Matic and couldn't finish the review. One of the days, I kept trying and my voice even became hoarse! That was back in September. I had given up!!!

I decided to try again at the start of this month, with a new tactic; and that was to print my script (my already-written review) and to place it beside me when I would do my video. I would just start my first videos reading the script, deleted and tried again a few times, and this time, I thought it was better.

I decided to just go for it and publish it on Youtube. A few days later, this was the result!

My video review ended up being in second place and my written review in third! I was ecstatic! Yea, it was my first video and it was not as good as those other people's videos on Youtube, but heck!!!

I still made it on the first page of ONE of the search engines for both the video and written reviews.

So if you're one of those people who are struggling with videos, think about what doing videos can actually do for your business. We have to get over our fears and be creative in the way that we can present the information within our videos.

I mean, this first video was just a PowerPoint Presentation! We have to be creative!

I hope that this has given you some inspiration and a little push to start considering making Youtube videos yourself. I do believe that this has the power to increase traffic and revenue for everybody at WA.

Thanks for reading and Happy Sunday!

Congratulations! How fab :)

Thanks Alenka.. :)

I have pretty much the same problem. I am very camera shy so I haven't started the video thing yet. But your post brings me some kind of hope!
I will try your method and see where it brings me!

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Denis!

Absolutely! Try it and let me know how it works! :) I've done two other videos since then and I promise it gets better...

Thank you, Thank you , THANK YOU Reyhana

I have been thinking about videos for the longest time and I am actually stuck on that part of the bootcamp training also.

I have started planning.

You have really inspired me to take it a step further and I thank you for that.

Sharing is caring and I am so grateful that you shared this post

Jennifer

You're very welcome, Jennifer! Happy to be have inspired you... :)

I've probably been stuck on this since the summer, lol... But that's why I guess it's good not to rush and to think on it. That way, you're able to come up with a creative way of doing your videos.

I can really say that the PowerPoint has helped me a lot!

Thank you Reyhana

Yes the PowerPoint was my first option which I think I will go with just need to think about how I will do it.

Thank you for you support
Jennifer

Thanks for the inspiration. Like you, I am extremely camera shy. So, I have not been able to make myself do a video. Yet, you have inspired me to consider it more carefully.

Best wishes.

Thanks Sondra. I'm so happy to hear that!

Like I was telling somebody in an earlier comment, I guess starting off writing and getting the hang of that first is the best way to go, so that you can use that as the basis for your videos.

The progression from writing to video in that way, will be much smoother. And using powerpoint presentations is a way to still get your message across without showing your face too.. :)

I really look forward to when you're ready to make your first video. Let me know! :)

Thanks for sharing, Reyhana. You have a wonderful Sunday.

Thanks Roger... :) You too!

No problem, Reyhana.

That is great! The video was awesome, you did great! I am looking forward to seeing your future videos. I am not there yet at all, but I have already planned for it. I think starting out with a powerpoint is great. That way you can take it step by step, and not put yourself "out there" to start with.

Thanks for watching and for the feedback, Jessie! Really appreciated!

Yes, it's best to start getting the hang of the writing part first and once you do, you can use your writing as the basis for creating videos, like I did.

It will be a much smoother progression, in my experience. But it's good that you're already planning for it. I was terrified of being on camera and probably still am, which is why I don't show my face yet. lol...

But at least, I'm starting to make the videos in other ways and still getting the message across.

We are completely in the same headspace as you were. Really don't like the sound of my voice (Jon) so very camera shy.
Having watched your video, we would never have known that it was your first. You sound great.

Well done on overcoming your fear and also for doing more and also ranking them.

Keep up the great work Reyhana

Jon and Debbie

Thanks Jon!

I don't like the sound of my voice either and it took me some time to realize that I can't do anything about that. And that it's not really a 'barrier'.

I focused on my goals and making my dreams a reality is more important to me than what other people would think of my voice. lol...

It's not easy to get over that but once you do start with your first video, it will get easier with your second and even easier with your third. :)

That's awesome, I am one of those camera-shy people. Great you managed.
I am planning to start video marketing but I don't have enough equipments like lighting and sound recorder, wondering if its possible to start without them.
Whats your advice?

Thanks Ngoni!

I say it's best to start as soon as possible. Yes it is possible to start without investing in the equipment. I actually recommend to start without them at first, to see how you do. Because the equipment is not cheap.

Even if you don't have lighting, try to find a place at home near a window where there's a ton of light coming in and use earphones that have a microphone built-in for sound recording.

I'm so video-shy that I just made a quick PowerPoint Presentation and used a screen-recording software called Screencast-o-Matic to record what was happening on my computer screen. I don't have any sound recording equipment. I use my earphones that had a built-in microphone.

Don't let the thought of not having professional equipment stop you from recording. It does not have to be perfect.

Thank you so much, will have to start emmediately.

You're welcome! I'm looking forward to see your first video... :D

Well done , that is awesome. I am camera shy too so I am
interested to see your video. All the best and thanks for sharing.

Yes, it was very frustrating back in september, but I guess different things work for different people. You just have to find what works for you... :)

Sure go on ahead to see the video. It's not good, far from it! Lol...

But if I hadn't started somewhere, I would never be able to improve.

Thanks for reading!

Thanks for sharing Reyhana!

No doubt, video marketing is the future ... And has arrived ...

You're welcome, Zsolt! I have only started seeing the power of making videos... :)

And yes, that future has arrived! Agreed!
