Mastering Search Engine Optimization - Rank Higher in Google!
There are several ways to master your Search Engine Optimization on your website. So, let's hunker down and show Google what we can do.
Here is a SEO checklist.
- Sentence structure
- Headings and subheadings
- Readability analysis - Your writing should have a nice flow
- Passive voice - See Diagram
- Transition words - makes your work easier to read
- Consecutive Sentences - 3 sentences starting with the same word
- Paragraph length - under 300 words ideally.
- Sentence length -avoid run on sentences. (use Hemmingway Editor App)
- Flesch reading - Means your article is hard to read
Sentence Structure:
A complete sentence has a subject and a verb. A new sentence begins with a capital letter. A verb is an action; the subject is a noun. Unless you are an English major, or an English teacher, sentence structure is quite complicated. However, this does not apply to Wealthy Affiliates.
One more thing: Google recently told me that I was using the same keywords over three times. Although these were three different posts, I used the same long-tail keywords more than 3 times. This is a Google SEO no-no. We live and learn.
There are eight parts of speech: (see example)
Headings and Subheadings:
Headings are a big part of keeping SEO happy. Headings are the icing on the cake. Subheadings are the cherry on top. This is the art and science of a well-constructed paragraph. This also makes it easier for the crawlers. Headings keep them happy.
Transition Words:
Our finished article has to be rinsed and proofread. Every (i) dotted and every (t) crossed. What really pulls it all together are the keywords, the flow, and most importantly, the transition words. For many of us, it has been years and years since we have used transition words on paper. Here are a few common transition words. Can you name a few more? Please write them in the comment section.
Passive Voice
That's all Folks.
Here you have it in a nutshell on how to PLEASE Google SEO.
Enjoy the rest of your week.

Thanks, Rachele!
I always hate trying to fix those passive voice issues. I leave those until the last to see if I can get my SEO high enough without messing with them.
However, (transition word) I'm going to try that zombie test to see if it helps. Those are very hard for me for some reason.
Thanks very much for this great info!
Barbara
Thanks,
Barbie,
I just found it today.
The transition words are my least favorite task.
Google know how to keep us on our toes.

Google is the second coming ...
This is unchartered waters.
I'm glad I can float.

p.s. Always glad to hear from you.
It's 10:00 p.m.
Oh, that's right, we are both in Cali
Hi Rachele,
Yes, you are right about Google. It holds our future! Yes, are you in Oceanside or Carlsbad? I live in Trabuco Canyon. I think it is much cooler where you are. I live in a fire hazard area.
Have a great day!

Rachele Thank You for this post, I needed this! I haven't had SEO training yet but it's coming very soon. I had no idea what SEO was about, and was a little concerned about it! I am no English major (nowhere near), but your post has eased my concerns on SEO, I now look forward to the training on this subject. Also your Grammar 101 tips, very helpful! Your explanation of things are so clear and simplistic.
Thanks again my friend, great post! :)
Thank you, sweetheart,
I'm always here for you.
Thanks for building my ego.
I really needed to hear this.
Rachele
It's the truth, and you're the best! :)
Love Always, Deb
