Hey Rachelle, thanks a lot for sharing this. I have a few shops on Etsy, and we have been selling well for a while already. It can be tough. So, if you want to start and be successful, you have to learn a lot about all facets of online selling.

1

Hi there, Hein.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your insights pertaining to Etsy. I have bought a few things from Etsy, mostly things to create cards or things to decorate with.
I can imagine that it can be tough.

This post was an email from an online friend, Darovan. She helped me with my first 5-page eBook awhile back and it sold really well. Anyway, she said that the Etsy market can be quite competitive but to make sure I have clear images of my item and offer something unique to stand out from the crowd if and when I decided to launch.

I know that selling products online is not a walk in the park. My friend and I were
selling Epicure for awhile. Lots of work.

Thanks again,
Rachele

Ok, that is great. Which platforms are you planning to sell your eBooks on? I would suggest Etsy, Amazon, eBay, and so on. Amazon makes your PDF into a physical book as well, and I think it's free.

1

Ultimately, I will advertise on all platforms, starting with Amazon because I am most familiar with it. However, I am nowhere near selling on any platform., but It is on my to=do list.

Rachele

1

Interesting, Rachele! I looked into Etsy a while back, and then decided not to pursue it!

Jeff

1

This is good to know, Jeff,

I think I have purchased a few things as I recall. By the way, what made you to decide not to buy from Etsy? I don't know anyone who shops Etsy, however, I imagine they probably have loyal fans.

My friend Darovan sent me an email. She creates templates for Canva. She also teaches eBook making on YouTube. It was just a fun post.

Rachele

1

Hey Jeff, why not?

1

Not interested in their terms. Ebay, who I have had a store for over 20 years was stringent enough, but Etsy just didn't appeal to me.

1

What they were selling and would allow you to sell, and their regulations and fees did not appeal to me, Rachele! Simple as that! EBay keeps me busy enough, as it is, and I've had a store there for over 20 years.

Jeff

1

Wow! Mr. eBay.

That is an accomplishment to be proud of, my friend. Considering that most business start-ups only last 2-5 years, you get a gold star. I have have had 3 start-ups myself.

However, I never really had success with them. Just barely broke even. Had I known what I know today, things would have turned out more favorable. We live and learn.

Rachele

1

I estimate that I have made about $125K in the entire time that I have had the store! The last three years have been a losing proposition! I am working on revamping the store daily.

Jeff

1

Wow! Jeff.

You are definitely a keeper, hands down. You have all the earmarks of an dedicated entrepreneur/author. You continue on your journey, despite the challenge. I have a hunch that if you revamp your store daily, that may ramp up your business. You never know.

You are one of the most patient persons that I know. Your vison of success will take you far. Owning a business is not for everyone. But i feel like you can teach a masterclass on both the pros and cons of running and sustaining a business.

The new entrepreneurs haven't got their feet wet yet. Owning a business is a learning curve and It's not for the faint of hurt, right?

Congratulations on all your successes as a business owner.
Rachele

1

Thank you for the kind words, Rachele! I am definitely know master to teach a class like that! A lot of what I accomplished was because of trial ad error! Eventually we find what suits us, as the individual best, and when we do that, it is then just "Rinse and Repeat"!

I love Etsy. I have bought many cool trinkets over the years, including a recent piece of boulder opal from Australia and a lava lamp. The vendors seem to be reliable, trustworthy, and honest. I can't always say that for Amazon.

As for selling on Etsy, I'm considering selling some printables, like math worksheets. As a retired teacher I know for a fact that stuff is in huge demand.

1

Hi there, Wendy.

Thank you for stopping by to read and respond to my Etsy flyer. I have an account with them and I am very pleased with any product that I bought on their platform. They have a pretty nice selection of intricate items such as jewelry, handmade & custom made goods, vintage , craft supplies and a whole lot more.

It is a great place for small businesses and is an excellent place for art and school supplies. Choosing to sell your Printable and Worksheets on Etsy is ingenious. Online teaching is becoming mainstream and these supplies will definitely be in high demand.

By the way, finding a piece of boulder opal from Australia and a lava lamp is a rare find. How cool is that? Gotta love Etsy. It is a one-of-a-kind deal.

Have a wonderful week.

Hi there, Franklin.

This is for people into eBooks and templates. Have you ever ordered anything from, Etsy? WAers like you, why not make a killing. A saving is a saving, right?

Did you see Catherine's eBook post? Pretty awesome stuff.
Rock the weekend, kiddo🎸🕺🎸🕺🎸

Hi Rachele

These days, I read mostly guitar magazine online subscriptions and published scientific papers.

My wife loves eBooks and reads a book a day, sometimes two. She has a Kindle and a monthly subscription to Kindle unlimited, which gives her access to millions of eBooks.

I gave her the code and she is going to try to find some books for her mom.

Yes, Catherine is awesome, just like you! 👍👍😎

Rock On! 🤘
Frank 🎸

Awesome, Frank.

Your wife is a scholar too (wife like husband). I have watched a few YouTube tutorials with Darawan and she's pretty awesome. I made my 1st eBook a few months ago. It was 5 pages and for me, it was a daunting task.

So, do I apply on Amazon for a code or what is the protocol? Catherine is a real sweetheart. She reminds me of my aunt's best friend Happy. They were both board members of my mum's women's club. (beginning to rant).

You know how to make us girls happy, Frank❤️

2

Hi, Rachele

My wife is not too interested in science. She’s more of a music, art, and literature person.

Here’s how to check out the eBook service she uses.

Go to Amazon and select Kindle (their eBook reader) from the drop down menu and you’ll see Amazon Unlimited in the sidebar.

It’s a paid service that you sign up for. It’s roughly $15/month.

You don’t necessarily need a Kindle eReader. You can load the books in a laptop or tablet app.

However, the Kindle PaperWhite device gives the best reading experience. Much less eye strain for those who read for extended time periods.

Rock On! 🤘
Frank 🎸

Excellent, Frank.

Thanks for sharing the information. It is now at the top of my to-do list.
I am not quite there, in terms of an eBook yet, but I am preparing. Another mountain to climb.

Have you created your eBooks/books yet? Probably a piece of cake for you. That's wonderful that you and Stacy are on the same page in music, art, and literature. You two are super compatible. Happy wife, Happy life.

I like the idea that you can load the books into a laptop or tablet and can't wait to check out the Kindle PaperWhite device. I'll DM you if I hit a wall (lol).

I just bought a screen protector recently after reading about blue light. I plan to get these for all my devices. -TV- cellphone, etc. I am online way too much.

I am still a WA toddler; I'll be a terrible 2 come January (lol). My grandson Kylo will also be two, so we'll celebrate together. There are so many cool kid shows on YouTube that he loves. He's already 30 pounds and not even 2. His favorite places to hang out are Knott's Berry Farm and Legoland.

Speaking of pounds, I'm hoping to be 150 by 2024. I am big-boned so this is a good weight. However, my doctor wants 140. I don't want to look like a toothpick , though (lol).

At one point in time, me and my 3 sisters Bev & Barb (twins), Rosalind and my niece, Vanessa, were all 150. How cool was that. For our family this was normal. We all got to wear each other's clothes. How cool is that.

That's all I got for now.
Rachele❤️

Hi Rachele

I wrote a 54-page on how to play the guitar that I give away on my site as a lead magnet for email addresses.

I has beginner, intermediate, and advanced sections.

The Amazon unlimited subscription is a great deal if your read for enjoyment daily.

Happy Sunday 😎
Frank 🤘🎸

Your are the most generous doctor that I know, Franklin.
Right now I read just for business purposes (lol).
My reading is about the moola!🥰

Rich people love to give away free stuff, right?
Stacy hit the Jackpot!

Rachele🥰

1

Haha I am rich, Rachele, but it's not about the money.

I was blessed with a great family and friends.

Money can't buy that! 😎
