I located an awesome article online about using keywords and cornerstone content.
I know when you start designing your website you want it to rank. WHO DOESN'T! The thing is, you need to take a step back and decide on the ONE keyword your post/page will be about. Then once it's completed, complement that page by linking back to it later. You DO NOT need multiple pages targeting the same keyword!
You must understand that websites don’t rank, pages rank!
If you can get one thing out of this post, then the above is it.
Like Kyle points out in Course 2 Lesson 7 - Low Hanging Fruit, plugging in a whole bunch of keywords into one page is counter productive. You need to build your post/page around one keyword and make IT AWESOME!
Joost says in his article "really important content deserves A PAGE within your site’s structure, NOT a news item / post. It should be easily navigated to within a few clicks"
He stated another great habit you need to put into practice is adding internal links within your content. If you are designing another page that touches on a keyword you previously made a page about, link back to it!
Joost states, "The reason for this is simple: links from within content are way more valuable than links from sidebars."
And the very last advice: PROMOTE YOUR PAGE!
What good is it if you do not promote the page to others to see and comment on. Google likes for a page to be active. Kyle expresses this routine in multiple training exercises. You will notice he requests you to share your page, post here, share 3 places, and so on.
He advises you to do this for a reason!

If you need help with anything just ask! I am somewhat new to this also and willing to share what info I have. When I do something I enjoy researching a topic fully so I will understand it. Last night I got on the topic of keywords and found this!
