Quoted vs Unquoted Searches
I have written and published my second article that proves my level of understanding in using the WA keyword tool. Only to find that my older articles I have already done that!
So my question is, what really is the big difference between searches using and not using quotes?
I mean, "natural cancer cure" and "best natural cancer cure" aren't usually how internet users perform their searches, but simply typing natural cancer cure and best natural cancer cure.
But if you would notice, WA Keyword Tool (and Jaaxy) actually use the quoted search method. Or am I missing something here?
After declaring that I already know, now I must say that I feel a bit lost!
Anyone, please?
Thank you!

Hey there,
When you put a word or phrase in quotes, the results will only include pages with the same words in the same order as the ones inside the quotes.
You are right, most folks don't use quotes when they are searching. But from a marketing standpoint (especially in Pay Per Click) it is useful because you can target keyword phrases in the exact order you want.
For example: Johnny Bit the Dog in quotes would only show you results in that order. Without the quotes, you might actually get The Dog Bit Johnny. Same words, different order, way different meaning.
Let me know If I can be of any more assistance.
Jim
Hi Jim,
I knew about the "exact phrase", and I believe that it is not only in marketing that it applies. I have done a lot of searches even before my involvement in WA.
My only clarification is, why it wasn't made crystal clear? I don't remember any emphasis on this. I wrote my first 17 articles using the Keyword Tool, targeted low-hanging keyword phrases, followed through in the Title, paragraphs, 140-char first chars, last paragraphs, etc. but when I publish the article and "try to do search" using the keyword phrases, I would not use quotes!
That is what I am asking here. That is why I said, after realizing this, I went back and typed in the targeted keyword phrases of my previous articles, and yes, there is the ranking on the first page.
I have proven this because my 19th article actually is in page 1 rank 1. But without the quotes, they are nowhere, not even in the 300th articles list.
I am just clarifying here if my experience is the same as many, because if yes, then there is some enhancement in the trainings or lessons to make this plain and simple, without a doubt.
At any rate, thank you for your reply. Appreciated!

I actually created a video that will offer a lot more clarity on this: How to Find Your True Competition in Google - Understanding QSR When doing research on your competition, you use quotes. People don't actually type in quotes very often when they search and your goal is to get ranked under the broad keyword, but to find the true and exact competition of a specific keyword you need to use quotes.
Thank you Kyle, I was also puzzled about the true purpose of QSR and the equivalent feature with Keyword Tool.
Thanks Kyle, I have been helped too
Thank you Kyle. I'm up to the second level on keyword using this. Now this is more like it.
Thanks!
Jovo? How come? I thought I was the only one... Well, some things always seem to be a mystery, until someone opens our eyes...
We learn all the time.
Hi Kyle,
I watched the short video. I get the impression, it is either the long, hard, manual way, or using Jaaxy.
Did I understand it right?
Agree to that!
