Tips for Getting Easy Website Traffic Through Instagram

I've been doing some research on how others are using Instagram to successfully promote business. I have only previously had a personal Instagram account, but I thought I'd apply a few things I had learned and see if it's something that will work for me.

As a result, my sales and clicks through on my website visibly increased every day of my trial. I didn't make a ton of money, but I can see how taking a few minutes a day to do some simple actions might help me get hundreds and even thousands of visitors going into the future.

Here are the simple tips that I accumulated (I know there is more great info out there), that is helping me quickly and visably increase my website traffic:

0. Sign up for an Instagram business account as a blogger, or add this to your current Instagram account, and connect it to your website Facebook page.

1. Include in your profile, a description of you from your niche perspective, as well as your website domain.

2. Take 1-2 pictures a day and share them on Instagram, preferably with location (for local followers), and mark it to automatically share to your Facebook page.

3. Put between 15-20 hashtags (#hashtag) in the comment under the photo that relate to your website content. As you type them in, Instagram will automatically show you how popular that hashtag is. Use the ones that are most popular.

4. Find some Instagram accounts that relate to your content. Follow these accounts and their followers to bring attention to your account and get them to follow you in return.

Here's an example of one from a few days ago:

All those hashtags helped people with similar interests find me, then they go to my profile and click my webpage to find out more. It's simple once you get the hang of it, and should end up only costing you 5-10 minutes a day at most.

I also signed up for an app that helps you get Instagram likes and followers. I like and follow others and earn points which I can use to get likes and follows. This wasn't recommended by anyone, but it's been working for me. I spend about 10 minutes a day and earn 100 followers every other day. There are several different apps for this purpose in the app store.

As I see how this goes, I will share more details and possibly training. I am not a social media expert, by far. But I'm seeing this work and I wanted to throw it out there in case it's useful.

Thank you for liking and commenting!

Jaime

When you do post on social media, how does the tracking work from social media to the web and to the merch's site? Or do you just use social media to promote your website? Let's say you give them the merch's name or web, how will the merch know they saw it on your i.g 1st does this work the same as when linked from our web to theirs?

if you have not already install google analytics. analytics will tell you where your traffic is coming from (Ie, instagram, youtube, facebook, etc) but your site should point to your social, and your social back to your site.

Ok so I'll be safe in getting my $$? lol I was just confused about the whole social media part.

Share a Sale promotes that you can use their affiliate links in your bio on Instagram. So if you wanted to promote a specific product, you can share a picture of it and say the link is in your bio, but you want to have some traffic built up first.

I just put the link to my blog in my profile, and when I post pics and people go to my profile they see the link and often check it out. You can also let your followers know when you've posted a new blog post and direct them to "link in bio."

I'm still working on aligning my Instagram with my website niche so that the bounce rate is better, but it's helping me rank faster with the traffic and I've gotten a couple affiliate purchases.

If you are using Amazon, as long as they are going through your blog you will get paid. I am not certain about using Amazon affiliate links directly in your profile on Instagram unless you are an approved Amazon Influencer - I think that might have been your concern. You do want to make sure your account is a "business account" so it doesn't look like personal account promotion, but as long as they are going through your website link Amazon will not track it back to Instagram and not pay you.

I want to do more training on it, but I'm still figuring things out myself. I hope this makes sense.

yes thank you much!
