New Dashboard Suggestion - Thoughts?

In a recent thread here in the WA forum, members were talking about what they liked/didn't like about the new dashboard here inside WA.
Personally, I really like the new platform/layout/dashboard. I'm also a big fan of white space and things feeling less "noisy" so I can see what I want to see...find what I want to find...and be kept updated on things I want/need to know. The new WA does that for me.
There is one thing tho that I really miss. Since I've heard other WA members mention the same thing, I tried to think of a solution.
What I Miss
I really miss the "recent forum activity" list that used to show when we first logged in. So after brainstorming a little bit (and pretending I know how to actually make it happen...haha), I came up with an idea and submitted it to K&C via the 'report a bug' tab (you can also submit feedback and suggestions there).
I'd LOVE it if there was one more blue tab in the middle with our global/personal feeds and notifications that said "Recent Forum Activity".

Then, when we click that 'recent forum activity' button, we'd get a 'feed' of new threads and recently posted comments to threads in the forum.
Disclaimer: I have NO CLUE if this can actually be done - just an idea I had.
So, what do y'all think? Would you like something like this or are there only a few of us that miss the forum activity info on our main dashboard.

I for one like your suggestion, I spent a lot of time looking at and responding to those last 10 forum posts. It seems that I am being prevented from that right now as I can't seem to post in the forums at all without an error. I'm sure it will get sorted out soon.
The MYSQL error that you get when posting within the forum will be fixed.. in other words we're all over it!
I personally think it's the right balance. Speaking form experience I became too distracted with what other people were doing and suggesting. I think there is a certain psychology/tendency for people to immerse themselves with what others are doing too much and not actually getting on with what THEY need to do. Just my thoughts.
Hey Jennifer. This is definitely a valid request and one that Kyle and I have been discussing since the inception of the new WA. Forum activity is something that does have a place on the Global and Personal dashboards, however the current settings are not showing posts until they reach a certain level of activity. We've done this on purpose so that the dashboards are not simply filled with forum posts.
Forum posts, Blog Posts, New Training, and Training Requests are all part of the feeds and as we tweak things forum posts will begin to show up right within the dashboard feeds.

I can definitely see how the forum posts would easily overtake anything else appearing on the dashboard. But if it could be limited to a certain feed like PotPieGirl suggests than that would be good.
@DkWinter - Having to toggle to a separate feed doesn't make any sense, but our goal is to include ALL activity in the system within a single interface. Global = ALL activity, Personal Feed = Only people you follow. Lots of tweaks to make and you can expect things to get better and better. Thanks for the suggestion.
