Hi, where do we find these in our accounts? I do not mean anything to do with affiliate commissions I mean the membership fees for Wealthy Affiliate.

Thanks

Very few organisations provide statements for membership fees. Your accountant will deal with that from your bank statements.

I inquired about this a few months ago and was told that they don't issue receipts for the membership payments.

I don't think there is one but to be sure I would send Kyle a PM.

THANKS

Good morning everyone!

A lot of our newsletters we auto send seem to go to 'junk' mail - any ideas on best practices/ways to avoid this?

Cheers!

Thanks Jason that's a good tip. I also found through our email marketing provider the best practices for avoiding this such as having your address, contact number, clear unsubscribing instructions etc...which we have implemented and our spam rating jumped a huge amount. Cheers.

I should be thanking you as this is great info you have provided. It will help me when I am ready to set up mailing lists.

Unfortunately most marketing emails go to junk but I think its only certain providers offer this service. But if you email something eycatching and they open it, your consecutive emails will go to their inbox

Any ideas? Our rankings had been sitting pretty steady around the 50's slowly moving up as we progress through our SEO campaign...we then did a quick ad in adwords and got some

In general, PPC is not supposed to be a consideration for rankings. Having said that, if your ads are driving targeted traffic to a landing page and the users stay on your site by visiting other pages (internal linking) than Google will notice this as good for rankings.

Also, if the landing page is used to sign people up to your email list, and you nurture that list in such a way (adding value, etc.) as getting people on that list to frequently go back to your website, than that could also positively affect your rankings.

In parts of the PPC training Kyle teaches us to hide the landing pages being used for PPC. The reason is because of the possibility that Google doesn't like websites that are nothing but landing pages for sales or signups. The less we make those pages known, the better.

It's all about testing, like you are doing, especially when considering PPC. If you find that you are getting a boost due to PPC, that is a bonus. But I would not necessarily consider that to be a strategy in and of itself, i.e., using PPC for SEO purposes.

Best Regards,
Jim

Great stuff thanks very much for your thorough response. Certainly makes more sense. Cheers!

Hi, I remember in training that we should have the setting in Wordpress for 'Discussion' named 'Allow link notifications from other blogs (pingbacks and trackbacks)'. This is good

yes just ignore and delete all the ping backs in your comments

Great, thanks a lot!

I read a lot about people being penalised for having many outbound links as it is telling Google that your content/page is not good enough so you link elsewhere....however, does

What is the page you are referring to? I can take a look for you.

Just a general question really, don't want to get penalised for adding too many affiliate links!

You do NOT want to overuse Keywords or Urls. This is noticeable to Google and other search engines. Be smart and use common sense and you will be ok.

Thanks for your response and will definitely be careful with this. So would you say Google knows the difference between an 'affiliate' link and normal link? Do their spiders auto-detect affiliate links?

I think they do recognize some affiliate links and if overused there could be a penalty. I dont think one affiliate link in a post would be penalized, if you use it more than about 5 times in a post there could be a penalty.
