Relating With Your Audince In Content Writing
Hello WAs,
It's been a little bit long since I was in this forum. My job demands turned more crazy recently and at the end of the day am left with very little time for interaction over here. When I get the least time I rush to work on my websites.
I've just found a little time and went directly to lessons and was impressed to read about how to relate with your audience. I thought it is good to share this as a reminder to each one of us.
When you build your website by writing content, the main driving force that will attract people to you is if you can relate to them on a personal level.
How do you relate to them?
1. Real People: - Understand that they are real people who have feelings and thoughts just like you are. They are not robots or machines, they are breathing people who talk and think like you do. Sometimes we write content without thinking about the reader which is a big mistake.
2. Answer Questions You Would Ask Yourself: - When you visit any website for a solution, what questions do you have and how do you like them answered? What makes you feel satisfied at the end of the visit? Those are the same questions you should be addressing in your content.
3. Don't Sell: - More often this statement has been repeated here that in your content never sell instead solve people's problems. The audience flee as fast as possible when they learn that your biggest interest is to sell and not to solve their problems.
4. People Invest Where Needs Are Met: - Instead of selling to people, seek to know what their real needs are and try as much as possible to meet those needs. Interestingly enough, people have no problem of investing their money where their problems were solved.
5. What Do You Have In Common: - For example if you are introducing an online business to newbies, you need to share your past experiences when you were newbie like them. What problems did you face and what pushed you to find WA? Remember that many people may be going through this right now and they would be very happy to get a solution from you.
I know this list may be longer than this. Just feel free to add any point point that you feel may be relevant as we seek to relate better with the audience through content writing.
Best wishes in in all you do.
Happy Tuesday
Paul.

Paul, I'm sure the secret must involve building rapport with them and this involves speaking their language and being able to describe their situation the same way that they do. Become a storyteller. By telling stories that relate to their circumstances helps to get the message across. I have learnt that if you want people to listen to your ideas people will only do something that they have firstly visualized themselves doing in their own mind!
This was awesome and came at the right time Paul! I've actually been working on writing my first WA review so I'll definitely take your article into consideration. Especially item #5. Thanks

Great Post. I am taking an online copywriting course right now and you are right on with your ways to relate. As I've heard so many times it's the relationship with your customer that counts, the sale(s) is second.
Very true Shelly. Attempting to sell to them as the first priority doesn't work at all.
