The 12-Bar Blues and Attraction Marketing

I'm a musician. I have been a studio musician and I love the blues. At the same time, I'm a deep thinker, analytical and highly strategic. What does this have to do with Attraction Marketing? Stay with me. This one is worth the ride.

Our world - the world of SEO, key-words, meta-tags, social listening and scoring, data bases that can almost query themselves, and the delicate tightrope of Facebook and YouTube's changing paradigms - is complicated and intricate world in which we work. It makes me tired just trying to image all the moving parts. It's like complicated orchestrations (I've written them...) or on-the-edge-of-good-harmonics jazz: the scores thrive on augmented or diminished chords full of 9ths, and 11ths, and 13ths. Complicated.

The Blues have three chords. Just three. Simple and clean with the ability to cut right to the soul.

The amazing thing, we all know were they're going. There's no surprises. The four-chord always resolves to the one-chord. We know it's coming, but there is just a half second of anticipation, the tiny feeling of suspended animation as the harmonics fall in place.

I love complicated things, but now, with Wealthy Affiliate I want to follow the three chord rule. 1) Understand my audience, 2) Attract them to my solution, and 3) Ease their pain.Keep it simple, with a slow groove that has the feeling of successful resolution. Follow the basic rules of just three chords and let the harmonic dust settle with simplistic, effective "coolness".

Wealthy Affiliate is not rocket science and let's not turn it into dis-jointed chords that sound a little "off". Let's keep it cool, simple, and with an anticipation that we'll soon get back to the one-chord and knowing that in that simplicity, we've touched someone's soul.

I really appreciated your thoughts in your blog, Phil. I'm a musician myself (mainly blues on Hammond organ). I do hope we'll get to help each other "get back on top" through our association in WAU.

James Hardee

Saw your post to Phil and had to jump in on this, Hammond B3 hugh, nice,Do you play have a leslie cabinet as well?

I very much enjoyed Robert Cray on the link you provided (he's always so fabulous to watch)-that first particular cut I've never heard him sing before. I'm leaving you a PM.

I'm practically speechless...You've got it all going on.

Wow! Such high praise! Wow!!! Thanks. Ya made me blush. Jazz...especially contemporary jazz can get too far out there. Give me the cool, solid basics....like Robert Cray Band and Stevie Ray Vaughn. I did a play list of Robert Cray while I worked on line all day. Two or three times I had to stop what I was doing and watch the YouTube Video. There's one that is so righteous. It really is. http://youtu.be/whyyL0VmYjw You've probably seen this. The good stuff starts at 2:29. I can play the keyboard like the Cray Band guy, but rusty on the Hammond Organ. He tears it up. I think I like Cray is better than S.R.Vaughn in some ways. Cray is smoother, little more refined. But somedays, the rock n roll blues are needed and that's where Vaughn comes in. Enough on that! (Well, actually, too much!) What part of the world are you from? How's W.A. going?

Hi Phil, sorry didn't say my name is Alan. Look forward to working with you also

Hi Phil , I love the analogy between music and marketing. Very inspirational.

Thanks Fourtuna. I look forward to working with you. Let's make it happen!!!

Very cool deal Phil! I don't know any of the details about music, all I know is I like a wide variety of it... blues included. It really seems like you have a handle on things. I would really appreciate it if you could forward me some of that other stuff you are sending Old Mule's way. I have difficulty with generating traffic... always have.

RDub

Thanks Randy. I'll keep you in the loop. I'm making a note of it now.

This was a very good blog Phil!

You are rocking it man! If you can follow those 3 things that you mentioned above you are going to experience lots of success online and have a very profitable business.

It looks like you have got the formula for success outlined here in this blog post. Keep up the great work and if you need a hand with anything going forward then please let me know.
Scott

Have a magic weekend.

LOL!! Keepin' the theme rollin' on! Thanks! Did I hit "reply" correctly? I'll PM you on some other stuff (traffic gen) later today, as soon as I get a moment. Thanks again.

Got it one Phil! Laterz.

Thanks for the kind words, Internetgranny. I appreciate you reading this and commenting...VERY MUCH.

That's a nice way of putting the 'Keep it simple' message. I like the way you describe the half-second anticipation and the feeling of a successful resolution.
