My Dumb Luck - Black Friday Yearly Wealth Affiliate Deal
Sometimes we just get lucky. We don't know how it happens or where it comes from, but we just strike it lucky. Also known as 'dumb luck'.
So this is what happened to me last year...
If you've read my profile, then you'd have some idea of my background when it comes to internet marketing. Like most of us, there were attempts (yes, of course I was hit by the scams as well), and so I was left with nothing to speak of except a few loose ideas on how to do internet marketing.
I did give up the search because I had been burned so many times before. I totally forgot about the idea of internet marketing and let it go. Something that I think most people go through because we've all have bad experiences and then are lead to believe that it's just not possible.
Again, after having a few health issues and financial issues, I decided to start looking again for an opportunity. I really didn't have much of a choice. It was either go back to what I was doing (which would have been at the detriment of my health) or find a new job. I don't know about you, but it's hard to find a job that pays anything decent when you're looking for entry level positions.
Sure, I had skills that I could use to get an entry level position, but did I want to work that hard for so little return? No way! And a big philosophy of mine is to give great value. In an entry level position, I'd probably be using very little of the skills that I do have and it would take years to climb the ladder in a job that I'm just not interested in - therefore not being of value. Happiness does need to be a priority.
Black Friday Wealthy Affiliate Deal
So, my dumb luck? I'd started signing up to mailing lists just so see what was out there and start researching again. I came across a Facebook ad (of all things) that promised me the 'laptop lifestyle'. Here we go again...
I watched through the email video presentations and got some really good ideas. I can't remember exactly what the program was (sorry about that), but there was indeed some great ideas. It did spark my interest again so I thought 'why not??". I was ready to invest in the initial payment of $560 bucks. It was an affiliate program and was mainly about selling the program to others to use (basically another MLM pyramid scheme).
Something at the last minute told be to check the reviews...
Like I said, I'd been burned before so this time I did my due diligence and started checking out the reviews. Low and behold, I saw some WA sites that gave true genuine insights into the program I was about to invest in. Of course, $560 was the upfront payment and then there were different levels you could upgrade to, all the way through to $2,999.
Boy I'm glad I looked!!
All the reviews were pointing to Wealthy Affiliate and how beneficial a membership was. There was so much honest information out there about Wealthy Affiliate that I decided to join there and then. I had the money to go yearly straight away (far less than I was prepared to pay for the other program!), so I hit the 'Join' button and haven't looked back.
The time of year I joined? Black Friday of course!
I joined there and then and paid for the yearly membership on Black Friday. To be honest, I didn't even really know what Black Friday was but I'm so glad that the timing worked out, and apart from the saving, I'll tell you another reason...
I just got an email from Kyle saying that because I had joined at Black Friday last year, I was being 'grandfathered' into that price ($299 US yearly - which is approximately $370 AU) for as long as I'm a premium member - and I truly intend to be. That means that my yearly fee is always going to be $299. It works out to $0.83 cents a day... for ALL THIS AMAZING TRAINING AND SERVICES HERE AT WEALTHY AFFILIATE!!!
I highly encourage anyone thinking of taking up the offer to do it - you won't regret it. I've learned so much stuff here within my first year that has me earning more than the average full time wage running my own business on my own terms.
Since I wrote the blog above, I'm now earning more than $200 a day. It's more like $300 at the moment and looks like it will continue to grow. I have used the skills I learned here at WA to create a local services business and it's so much fun! I get to talk to people about enhancing their online presence (something that I love to talk about) and it's my job - which doesn't feel like a job because I love doing it. Wealthy Affiliate has already paid for itself time and time again for years to come...
I've taken one of my clients from ZERO internet enquiries to at least 15 a week, 5 of which purchase her services, all within in 3 months. All by using the amazing training and lessons I learned here at WA. Using what I've learned, she is generating a huge ROI and I get paid quite handsomely!
I'd like to personally thank Kyle, Carson and Jay for creating incredible value and allowing us to use that incredible value to pass our value along to others.
BOTTOM LINE - VALUE = MONEY!!
Just a friendly reminder - be of value. You don't want to give your money to the scammers, so don't be one. Be in it for the purpose of changing peoples lives for the better, and the cash will most definitely follow...
Cheers for reading,
Peter

Peter,
I saw your blog by doing a Google search, looking for my own, lol. It was so interesting that I couldn't stop reading it. I've only been at WA for a month and a half. But so far I have created five websites and am in the top 200. It's hard work, but it's worth it. I have a full-time job which I hope to retire from in five years. I think with WA I may just fulfill that dream.
Debra.
That's great Debra! You really sound like you enjoy having your plates full! 5 websites and a full time job would have to be an enormous amount of work! If you're enjoying it, then it's totally worth it. What direction have you decided to go with on your sites?
One site I am marketing two books for the author
Another I am marketing oil paintings for the artist
Another is a product review/book review website
Another is a Wealthy Affiliate promotion
The fifth one I may end up deleting - my Addicted to Reading website since I am combining product and book review.
Hey there, buddy!
Yes...it's a bit past 3 am over here in New York...turns out I got incredibly sleepy around 9:30 last night, so I went straight to bed. Unfortunately, my body seems to like getting 5 hours of sleep, so here I am!!!
I can relate to the entry-level position fiasco; there are plenty of low-paying jobs in the U.S., but it's really not worth wasting your time just to scrape by to pay basic bills. I made that tragic mistake a few years ago: Having been unemployed for well over a year, I took a retail job that only paid $9 an hour. My rationale was that it was better than nothing and perhaps I could make my way to becoming a merchandiser, something that I thoroughly enjoy. That was one of the worse decisions I had ever made! But the lesson had been learned, one that I carry with me, several years later:
Do not make a decision out of desperation. Ironically enough, that retail store filed for bankruptcy a year later....
it's so unfortunate and shameful how many people feel the need to scam people out of their hard-earned money. I don't think I ever felt this before, but just after reading your post, Peter, I suddenly feel a responsibility to point people in the right direction. Although I can't make them do anything, shame on me if I don't at least do my part.
(Oh...you may want to correct the typo, you have $2,999 instead of $299.)
"Of course, $560 was the upfront payment and then there were different levels you could upgrade to, all the way through to $2,999."
Well, I'm going to stay online for about an hour, and head back to bed, hopefully, to get some more sleep in before I start my day.
Always good to see you, Peter! Catch up with you soon!
Veronica
Hey Veronica! Thanks for dropping by (at this ungodly hour for you...)!
You're absolutely right about making decisions out of desperation. Lucky you got out before the 'you know what' hit the fan!!!
By the way, that wasn't a typo. The product that I was thinking of purchasing had an entry price of $560. Then they had a few upgrades ($1,299) and their premium product was in fact $2,999!!! 10 X what a Black Friday yearly membership to WA costs and from what I did see about it, nowhere near the breadth of training and services that are provided here. We are so lucky to be here!!!!
Take care, and try to get some sleep!!!
Cheers,
Peter
WOW!!! So we get all the goodies at Wealthy Affiliate for just 1/10 of the cost of that other program!!! That's amazing!
Finances may be a bit tight right now, but I don't care if I have to eat soup for a week I'm taking advantage of that Black Friday deal this year!
Cheers,
Veronica
I'm so glad to hear that you're taking up the Black Friday deal!! That is fantastic!! It felt a bit empty here when you 'disappeared' for a little while...
Yeah, a tenth of the price and from what I saw they had nothing on WA in terms of services. No hosting, no keyword tool, no nothing! You had to get all that stuff and go out on your own and set it all up and then hope that people were going to buy their program. It's such a tough sell when you don't even really know what it is that you're promoting.
I remember a long longtime ago joining that stupid 'Empower Network' or whatever it was called. Such a heart breaking experience. You get promised that you'll be rich if you buy this $25 package, and the moment that you do, you get told you can't do it unless you get the $100 package as well and then there was some stupid thing about paying $19 bucks a month just to be able to get paid (I read somewhere later that it was because no payment processors would touch them with a 10ft pole) and their drivel was all about 'just blog blog blog' about anything that you wanted, as in with no structure or relevance. Blog about your day, what kind of car you drive, what colour you like, etc. Just pure crap. Then you get told that you have to buy the next thing up if you want to make money. It was such a scam and a total waste of time. There was nothing that taught you how to even sell what it was that you were selling and you yourself didn't even know what the product was. It was crazy. Anyway, I think thisother program was more or less the same. 'Buy this amazing thing. It will make you rich. Buy this thing and then sell this thing and you'll be rich. But you have to buy this thing to find out what this thing is.' What the heck is this damn thing, anyway!! I did read somewhere recently that the owners of Empower Network had gone bankrupt. Seems weird with all the money they were taking from people, but there you go. I guess the lack of integrity finally caught up with them.
I'm so glad that's over. Like I said in the post, I joined Wealthy affiliate straight away. At the very least, you get to see what you're in for before you join, and they most certainly haven't let me down.
Oh yeah I've seen those sites that keep talking about "it" but you never really know what "it" is and why it's such a secret! You really can't go wrong with the 7-day trial here at Wealthy Affiliate. Heck, you even get to test drive a car before buying it, which is so much more than a $2,999 program!
As always, your words are too kind, Peter.
Such a great analogy! Yes! You do get to test drive a car before you buy it, and and least you can buy a car for $2,999 and get some decent use out of it!!
