Being Asked Silly Questions

Being Asked Silly Questions. It really surprises me when people ask a silly question, when they already know the answer to it. Normally you would expect a child to ask something they already know the answer of.

Just the other day I got asked question that this person already knew the answer to.

It went something like this Peter I know this may seem a bit nosey, but can I ask you what age you are, as some people do not believe when I say your in your mid to late thirties?

Well I just told the what age I was and I think they got a bit of a shock. I am 41 and it was like well you certainly do not look it.

Some people do not think you are the age you are.

The person that ask the question did already know as I told them before about what age I was.

Although at times silly questions can be fun to answer, but when the same person keeps asking the same question over and over again, that really does started to get annoying.

Frustrating and annoying it can be, but it happens sometimes.

This does get annoying, thanks, buddy.

Peter, I feel your pain. That's exactly what I was alluding to in my blog: It certainly can get annoying when people don't think about what they're asking before they ask it.

I loved your post. You weren't pointing out anyone for doing this but were offering a great method for doing a quick check ourselves before putting a question forward. Sometimes we do answer our own question once we say it out loud! You weren't making anyone person feel stupid for asking a question. When my children ask a question that I am pretty sure they know answer to I question them back. I never try to make them feel stupid because I don't want to discourage them asking questions.

I have noticed those questions and I guess I'm just too polite to say anything. I'm involved in a Political Party and OMG, the questions and statements people make are really annoying but mostly funny. But in Politics, one learns to be more tolerant, especially when you want them to vote for your candidate. But I hear your frustration. Thanks for sharing.
