Smiles are contagious
Have you ever noticed that we feel happier around children, it is because they are almost always smiling or laughing. We see smiles and it makes us smile.
That is the easiest way to spread joy and happiness, just smile! What could be easier?
Smiling tells other people what we are feeling. You are happy to be alive!
You do not have to be happy to smile, but we have all put on a "brave face" when we didn't feel like smiling but did it anyway. It is much better to hope to push through a bad mood by smiling than to do nothing. Often enough, we force a smile and remain happy, because we found something to be happy about.
When you experience a situation that makes you happy, your brain sends a signal from the cortex to the brainstem, and this signal is transmitted to the smiling muscles in your face. The smile on our face sends another signal back to the brain indicating feelings of joy and happiness.
These are good reasons to smile more often.

tI relieves stress somewhat by smiling, by signalling the brain, which in turn releases endorphins and brain chemicals associated with happiness.
Thanks for sharing Pat. a s(mile) goes a long way.
A SMILE
A smile costs nothing, but gives much-
It takes but a moment, but the memory of it usually lasts forever.
None are so rich that can get along without it-
And none are so poor but that can be made rich by it.
It enriches those who receive, without making poor those who give-
It creates sunshine in the home,
Fosters good will in business,
And is the best antidote for trouble-
And yet it cannot be begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is of no value
Unless it is given away.
Some people are too busy to give you a smile-
Give them one of yours-
For the good Lord knows that no one needs a smile so badly
As he or she who has no more smiles left to give

Thank you for that information about the smile. A smile & laughter is like a ray of sunshine in one's life. It helps with a persons everyday life.

Great advice, Pat, as always. One of the reasons I write, speak, and teach the way I do is because I found that people who can laugh and smile tend to remember lessons better. And we are more likely to understand the main point if we can associate it with a humorous story. Of course, this does not mean that we always have to be a comedian. As you point out, sometimes just seeing us having fun and smiling can spread to others quickly. :-)
That's a great way to teach James. I know humour makes it more memorable for me as well as makes any training more enjoyable and not as long :)
