PART 3 is about STRATEGY:
I will come back and write this out. But I want to at least start this while the questions (and confusion) is still fresh in my mind.
What is the relationship between a newsletter subscription and a squeeze page?
Do I need a separate optin page?
Or is it enough to have the signup feature in several places?
Can someone organize the following terms:
Funnel page
Squeeze Page
Optin Page
Landing Page
And what about free gifts to download? If they give you their email, how is this processed through MailChimp?
I assume the free download requires its own plugin or does MailChimp do this too?
* and what I really want are real examples. can you post a link of a real example so that I can see it in action? For example, I want to see an example of an option program that works with a newsletter subscription.
* and please post a link for real example of a FREE GIFT to download and how it works with an email subscription.
thanks
I'll be back to write this out
I invite your insights
If you have experience with Mail Chimp, I would welcome your insights. Thanks

squeeze page is what you use to capture their email address. Generally by offering some kind of lead bait.
separate optin page is not really needed if they are coming to your website to optin.
having different signup forms around your page would be good.
the order generally goes
Advert
squeeze page
optin
Thankyou page
your offer
free gifts are lead bait or trip wire offers. once people optin and confirm subscription you email them a link to the free gift.
no plugin required. just a normal link to the gift page
because I'm just starting to understand the relationship of all these terms, I wanted to see a good example of how all these things might be working together on one site or page or are they are all separated into different pages
ok. so it seems that no optin page is necessary if I already have clear signup forms all over the place
Ok. So that's what I'm trying to understand. How does the option and the newsletter sign in work together? Can I see a good example of this?
the "OPTIN" is the process of receiving their email. It is completed by using a form where it requests peoples emails.
This form is also attached to your "autoresponder" which is the service that handles your newsletters.

Thanks for starting this conversation! This is something I am currently trying to implement with a couple of my websites. I was told to write the Free Report first, since this will be the carrot to get people to give me their email address. I also plan to use MailChimp until I realize some success and can upgrade to a paid service, like Aweber.
yeah, I'm thinking the same way
