When "BIG WEBSITES" Have Had Enough of Google's Search Results

Go to the Google Search Bar and type in

Best Printer

Scroll past the Shopping Ads (mainly Google btw)

Scroll past the main websites before the People Also Ask section (if you're in any type of technology niche these websites at the top of the search results are you main HIGH AUTHORITY competitors, i.e DON'T try to outrank them for the keywords they are targeting, you will lose!)

Find the result from the The Verge and click on that!

READ... AND LAUGH πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

He's NOT wrong, have a look at the "publish date" on the top results

AND THEN HE DECIDES TO HAVE A GO A GOOGLE'S GEMINI TOO

Clearly someone who is an "Authority Website" is NOT liking the search results (or how they're currently being manipulated) even though THEY ARE RANKING.

I'm still very sorry for all of those who have been affected.

The update is STILL ongoing.

As I've said, NO-ONE knows what is going to happen and I certainly won't be providing "false hope" or "pure clickbait" to make people feel better (that's no better than LYING!!)

For now, the same principles apply - Keep doing what you've been doing, expand your reach to various platforms, and WAIT!!

Thank You For Reading

Hello Partha

Thank you for sharing and for putting a smile on my face. I have actually recently been seeing a slight increase in my traffic and rankings since I have started posting regularly on my website again.

But the interesting is part is I was always doing better on Google than Bing in terms of ranking and number of articles on page one. But as of lastnight I have seen that I'm now suddenly doing better on Bing and getting more traffic and clicks than I usually get from Google.

Something is definitely going on with Google. I'll keep doing what I'm doing and your post has given me the reassurance I needed to keep going. Thank you again for sharing and for putting a smile on my face. All the best to your success.

Regards

Timothy

I agree with your last statement, but I have very limited time right now. So I am publishing slower and I am updating articles that got dropped from the index, and I am focusing the rest of my time on social media, "expand your reach to various platforms"

I am not giving up, I am not walking away. But since I am not getting any traffic from Google right now, I am using the time to learn other platforms.

I have a theory though. If you look at the status for the March 2024 core update, this is, to misquote he-who-lies-without-stop, the longest they have ever done this. Ever. Longer than Obama!

So what could this mean? A, nothing, B, something. Like Google is trying to figure out what the heck is going on.

You would think they would know what you are saying here, Partha. It's not helpful for allegedly respected people to stand up, drool, and turn the applause light on. That's not helpful content.

I think they have opened a Pandora's box and they don't know how to close it.

Good AI content is still, good content. Bad content written by hand is, bad content. If it reads well and answers questions, it's good. But Google also doesn't want to get overrun by bots.

This reminds me of the monty python routine where they are tuning they guy's brain with a screwdriver:
Doctor with screwdriver: Who's the smartest man in the world
Patient: Einsteeen
Doctor turns screwdriver to the left
Patient: Einstone
Doctor turns screwdriver to the right
Patient: Einstein

Google has that screwdriver, and it seems like they turn it either way and the patient gets the wrong answer

Hi Partha

Yeah, if I had a 93 MOZ DA, like The Verge dot com, I could write garbage and rank high on page one of Google, too. The real question is, would I want to?

I think Google has met its match with the younger generations, who are heavily depending on social networks and AI for communication and information, respectively. What Google is doing is almost like the last act of a desperate company.

Nothing lasts forever, but I've been having a crazy amount of fun over the past three months creating pins for guitars and amps. I already have almost 500,000 monthly views, so when my niche decides to embrace Pinterest, I'll be ready. Lol 😎

I look forward to a rock version of the the Verge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hahaha, me too, Catherine! πŸ˜ƒ

I saw the same thing haha!
Still growing Pinterest, FB and youtube myself! Might be looking for someone who can do it for me for Reddit, not sure if I can have the budget.
So many niche sites out of business right now, it's horrible..

Cat got your tongue today Partha!

Ah, I see...you are moving away from long form, to short form...to abide with Google's latest updates.

The world of 100 word, super long-tail posts is coming!

I don't believe so Kyle, not by the way Google is engineering the results, they have all but KILLED longtail and the user intent and just show the short tail results for long-tail queries

Of course, maybe this will change again... or maybe Gemini will just answer the long tail...
