My First Blog EVER

Oh dear friends, be patient with my first blog.

Funny this word does not make my inside topsy-turvy anymore.

I was supposed to talk about my first month in WA but just couldn’t get it right.

So I decided to write about that fascinating word Blogging. Why,you would ask me?

Well because since I met that word and did research on Google,it has always fascinated/confused me.

I always wonder where people find subjects to talk about, how the hell do they do that? More often the subjects are so personal and I don’t see myself doing that.

More I read about the blogs of others and mind you I have read a lot and more I got fascinated and confused.

Fascinated because I am excited to do the same and confused because I am not sure to have the guts to do it.

And to my surprise when I joined WA,I found out there are blogs to write also, though it is not mentioned on WA ad. You all remember when you first came across the WA Ad,it says “ learn how to build websites or learn how to make money online “ but no “learn how to blog.” Ha Ha Ha

You know the saying: ”Every time you run away from the thing you don’t like,it comes back to haunt you.” That was my feeling exactly.

Well this is one of the many challenges of my life and God knows he sent us a lot of them Challenges.

OsreeM,
I don't know if this will help you? I recently found out about a site called hubpages.com where you can write small articles (of not less that 1000 words I think it is) on specific topics. (Not rambling on about "today I did this or tomorrow I'm doing that" etc but about something you either feel passionate about or could be passionate about with a little more research .. something you've always thought "I'd like to know more about that." The stretch you a bit (if you are new to all this) by preferring videos and images also to be posted. And the thing is you need to do what hubpages prefers because if you do they place ads on your site and you can earn money if people go and buy a product because of that. (I think I've got that right, but that's the gist of it anyway) .. and if you don't do it the way hubpages prefers then you get relegated to some sort of 'outer zone' where your writing won't get many views. I think there might also be an affiliate link you can put on your site to hubpages and you get paid if others join up .. but I am only just beginning to explore the world of hubpages. (I probably should have found out more about the affiliate program they have before posting here as I might be missing out on some earnings!

p.s. I didn't think about that coming up as a live link when I posted the hubpagesdotcom so maybe this will be moderated out. It was not intentional though and as said I don't yet have an affiliate link there, though I am in the process of joining up there. But its a good place to practice getting confidence writing content with at least one very specific rule: "you must write to solve a problem a reader is searching for a solution for" ( and one secondary, but also specific rule, to practice: make your post attractive to the reader's eye and attewntion span .. with images and videos (if you can)

Thank you,will check this out.

Yep ... and the same holds true for the word Blog. But you'll figure it out. In a month or so it will become part of your new tech speak. But in my opinion our WA Blogs serve at least one very important function in our training.

It's a place to practice our writing skills ... aka ... blogging. And why is this important? Because good writing is part of the task we have called generating quality content ... a fundamental SEO task.

I'm not sure ... maybe we started using the word blogging, because so money folks froze at the keyboard when they were asked to write something.

Now that wasn't so bad ... was it? You just wrote a very engaging piece ... congratulations.

Yes you are right, blogging is really about acquiring writing skills and when you write, you have to expose yourself and this is where we froze because we are so afraid to show who we really are.

Congrats, Osree, you managed to write yr first blog post, it is pretty good post; and nice to read, so don't worry, you will get the hang of it,

Will this help:

Thk you for your encouragement,Jewel.

You are welcome, Osree. :))

Don't know what you're worried about, this is a Very good first blog, funny too.
We also found it pretty daunting when we first started as well.
I still find it hard to come up with a blog to write about. Inspiration comes at the most wierd times while reading other blogs or comments.
Don't worry about it, you can always ask everyone for inspiration in 'live chat' or 'questions in classroom'.

Hi Geoff n Jane, thks for the encouragement and for sharing your experience with me.

Congratulations on a wonderful first blog post! :)

Thk you for the encouragement

You're welcome! :)

Congratulations and know that it will get both easier and more comfortable each time you write.

Thank you for the encouragement

Congratulations with your first disclosure! I would think it is a great deal like sharing your diary at the start. As we get more comfortable should be easier, and easier to find subjects we really want to talk about and help our readers see what we are sharing. Oh My- the ways we grow in W A!!

Thks Sami for reading my blog

Hi Osree, you wrote a very fine, nice to read first blog, you will grow into it, I remember the first time I shared my first website blog on social media, I went cold/warm/shiver/ ooei what would everybody think of it, will they react, if so, how, and even worse, what if I don't get any reaction. I have just released my 119th blogpost to the social world, without any shiver at all.
In holland we have a comic writer, and she titled a book
"Alles went, behalve een vent"- that means - you get used to everything, except a bloke:)
Success with your next blog:)

Thks Loes for the encouragement.
