I can't help but notice how many people on WA still don't have any websites listed??? Could it be they don't have enough confidence to show their creations to the world yet?
Well I discovered a solution today that lets you run WordPress from your Windows computer, so you can test out any ideas and build confidence without anyone seeing.
If that sounds interesting, I did a short post about it on daily-dose.siterubix.com

Thanks for the post. I also have bookmarked it. T'm always reluctant to "share" my pages/site but I think that's my shyness or lack of confidence speaking! If anyone copies my content it is an indicator of their stupidity because it will probably come back to bite them.....Leigh
The reasons for people not showing their sites here has nothing to do with lack of confidence.
Plagiarism. Copyright Infringement. Scrapers.
People that cannot think of their own ideas. People that steal another person's specific niche topic.
There is no telling who is lurking since anyone can join for free and not even set-up their profile.
I think the majority of people would never think to do such a thing, but there is always somebody who thinks it's okay to copy/paste someone else's work because they believe that anything on the internet is free for the taking.
There are also people who KNOW it's wrong and do it anyway.
It happens all the time. I can't tell you how many people I have come across over the years that have had their work stolen.
Some people do not show their websites as people copy content. I can appreciate that and do not give out my website info on here any longer as I had a issue a while back.
Your article sounds interesting and might be good as Craig said below about showing a possible client a website. Will bookmark to look at more closely. Thanks for sharing. Debbie
If people are stupid enough to copy content after being on here, it's their loss. They are NEVER going to succeed that way.
Hi - I think a lot of people would be worried that others would "steal" their idea, and try to cash in on the niche.
I am certain there are a lot of people here who would do that - particularly if they're struggling to get going... find a successful site, and copy it.
Problem with that is, there is so much more work involved than just creating a web site... that's why it's important to go trough the training here.
All the best, Mark
That's cool. I left you a comment. I have a siterubix that I use for testing everything before I move it to my site. Even though it's really unlikely anyone will find it, it's still live.
But alas, I have Mac, so this won't work for me. Good idea for Windows people though!
Looks good, I can see a use for this. Especially in demoing a customer's site before going live.
Would need to look a bit more closely to determine how easy it is to move a site to a live installation.
Google likes to see visits and WA'ers are real people. It can also help your Bounce Rate if you have content that will keep them on your site for a while.
That's not what I ment. I mean search traffic.I would never say the people aren't real here.
