Our Fun Raiser
We beat cancer today with kindness,my sister-in-law was told she had breast cancer before Christmas, we saw how hard it was going though chemo and her losing her hair. We decided to have a fun raiser and donate all the money to The Breast Cancer Foundation. But most importantly it was to motivate my sister -in law Diana, so my wife Natasha and i started our act of kindness.
We picked a date 22-2-2015, we called people, we door knock, and we even organized a Breast Cancer site so people could donate. Now our chosen target was $2,000, so off we went knocking we raised $350 and on site we raised $600. The day before our fund raiser. we set up the garage in pink, we were having a sausage sizzle, cakes, cup cakes, and raffles, its amazing what people donated. We got a
- retro bike worth $200
- the post office gave us collectible coins, stamps, under water camera, cook books grand total of $1,000
- hair straighter $300
- 3 month gym membership worth $350
- haircut worth $150
- car detailing $150
- hair products $100
- juicier $200
- manicure $100

There is so much kindness out there, the day has come in the morning we set up the marqueed, had the bbq ready to cook the sausages. There was about 60 people coming, it was a beautiful day with blue skies and a beautiful cool breeze. People started coming in droves they bought cakes and sausages and raffle tickets the day was going great.
Kindness at its best, but the big attraction of the day what every one came for was me. I was cutting my MULLET a hairdo i have had for 30 years, i was getting it chopped off for Breast Cancer Search. The day turned out to be one of the most fantastic day's of my life.
I made a speech for my lovely sister, and then her son and two others chopped there hair off too, kindness all round. All and all we raised $4,000 on the day. it was a good effort from all the people and friends and my sister-in-law had the biggest smile on her face "priceless".
