Don't make the same mistake as me.

In the last couple of weeks, I was very busy with my everyday job, working sometime 12 h per day. So, a little time for me to write anything on my website or to do anything for my online business. I looked to hire somebody to write for me. I heard that many people are hiring or using some site online to help them with writing. I thought to give it a try.

I found somebody and I explained what kind of article I want. All good, the person told me that I will have the article in 2 days. I was happy at the moment. On Thursday, the person called me and told me the article is ready and will send me via email. I paid for the article and Friday I posted on my website, but before that ( I am a skeptical person) I run a plagiarism program to see if the article is unique. The program told me only 2% is plagiarized . I looked and it was nothing to worry about. I was so pleased as the article was written so well. I posted on my website, but something felt not right. I had this feeling all day, so I thought I should run another software to see if the article was unique or not.

My surprise when the article come out not to be unique, and the same article was published on the Forbes on the 2nd January. I was so mad, I tried to contact the person, but no answer from him. I deleted the article from my website and from Twitter and Facebook.

I am still wondering why the first program told me that 98% is an unique article and the the secon told me is 100% plagiarized.

DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS ME.

Thanks for the heads up Oana

I will run an article on site content checker.
Thank you for a good lesson learned post

I am writing all my content. I don't want to rely on someone else.
This way it is mine, mine, mine.,

I wonder if you can run the articles through WA's site content checker?

I queried this a couple of days ago. I am helping someone who is not confident in writing. He sent me an article to check that I found was 88% copied and yet he said he put it through Site Content. I asked in live chat and was told it doesn't check everything on the internet.

@sdawson The site content checker is not that good.

This kind of scam makes me so angry. I am a professional freelance web writer and proofreader and it gives people in my chosen career a bad name. So many questions, but don't feel obliged to answer. How did you find this writer? Can you give feedback? How did you pay? Any possibility of getting your money back? Which programmes did you use?

I paid paypal and no, I can find him anymore and the site he gave me disappeared and I lost the money. A few years ago when I was at University I used Grammarly, but the subscription expired. Grammarly is good, but now I am kind of short with money so I have looked for another one. Now, I am using SmallSeoTools, which was ok as a free program, but this time gave me the error of 2% unique content. Then I used Copyscape, which is great. Copyscape will give you 10 free checks per month, if you want more than that, you have to pay. And there is Siteliner which check for duplicate content through your articles.

I am sorry you had to go through this experience. Is it worth trying to initiate a chargeback on PayPal? I haven't done this myself, but it might be worth looking into.

I use the premium version of Grammarly, which is excellent, but as you say, it's expensive.

All the best for 2019, Diane

It can be easy to be caught out, developing relationships we can trust can take some work.

I have noticed that some checkers return varying results.

It would be interesting to know which checker returned the 2% result.

You will be glad in a way that you nipped this in the bud, Lana.

The SmallSeoTools

Hello Oana, thank you for sharing this experience with outsourcing. You really have to be careful.

Thank you for sharing your experience, I will keep this in mind.

As Mark said, scammers everywhere :(

I'd suggest to use a reliable outsourcing or freelancing platform like Fiverr, Kwork, etc. If you have any issues the scammer will be penalized and you have chances to get your money back ...

Scammers everywhere. I do not trust anyone.
Sorry you got a bad one.

Mark
