Why I was skeptical of WA.

So I'm totally new here and I'll get around to filling in all this stuff in the next couple of days, but I've now posted twice that I was skeptical of WA before I came here and I thought it would be worthwhile to come here and explain myself. This may be valuable to all you affiliates out there promoting this place.

I probably would have been skeptical of this place regardless. I've played around with IM enough that I've been hit with my share of scams and seen my share of spammy communities. I also build websites for a living. I know how easy it is to throw up a community website. So $50 a month for a community site is kind of hard to reconcile with the idea that you really care about our success.

However there was something that happened to be in play this time. For miscellaneous reasons, I was recently doing some research on hosting company that specializes in WP hosting. Everyone seemed to be saying they were great, but again they seemed kind of ridiculously expensive for what they were offering. So I kept digging eventually found some honest reviews about just how bad they really were. Like extremely long and detailed reviews. These were not just your run of the mill disgruntled customers. These were people that were desperately trying to get the word out to stay away from this company, and one of them made the point that the reason you couldn't find a single honest review about this company was that they bribed people with HUGE affiliate commissions to refer people to the site.

See where I'm going with this? I didn't know what the commission rate was on WA when I first started hearing about it, but affiliate is in the name. It's kind of safe to assume that affiliate commissions is going to be part of there marketing strategy. So my initial skepticism had a lot to do with, is it really worthwhile or is it really just a pyramid scheme where the only reason people are making money is they keep convincing new people to join.

So a couple thoughts to anyone promoting WA:

  1. I'd acknowledge the skepticism on behave of your reader. Your reader can't possibly know how great it is until they join and you telling them nothing but how great it is kind of just makes it sound like you're hiding something.
  2. I'd acknowledge you get paid for referring people, but the flip side of that is that if the pictures of your income statements show all your money coming from WA that kind of reinforces my earlier skepticism.

Anyway, just a thought that may be some food for thought on what was going through the mind of this fresh new member. If you're curious, I happened to be on a Black Friday buying spree for business stuff and I came across the Extended Black Friday sale for WA and just happened to decide to give it a try. So AlexSol if you're curious that's how you got my affiliate sale. Yours is the Black Friday sale link I found with four hours left. I'm glad I did.

Thanks for linking me to this blog. It was great to have more input in my decision! I upgraded today. Thank you!

Hey!!! Glad it was helpful.

Hello dear thanks for following me. I like to support my followers by liking their old post.
Have a nice week.

Well thanks. I appreciate that.

My pleasure.

Good move, and a great set of reasons to be sceptical about WA and any other offer. But as you found out it is not a scam. Good feedback for our promotional activities you have given.

Yeah definitely not a scam, but I've also only been here for less than 24 so I'm still working on wrapping my head around what it is.

It isn't a scam. Even if you make 0$ in the first 2,3 or 6 months, it doesn't mean it's a scam.
They delivered what they advertised for: Teach you how to build a business online and earn money through affiliate marketing. That's exactly what they do, what they teach, and what you will get.
However, there might have been some "misleading" by their part in terms of THE TIME it takes to really start seeing consistent income from this business.
Making it to the first page in google with a high traffic keyword takes years, not months, as I started seeing recently (I've been here for 7 months now), and until that happens, you will be getting "lucky" sales at best, not consistent revenue.
But it depends on your niche, how well you write your content, and user experience, all come with time and experience and the more you train yourself to this.
Me now comparing to when I started, is a much better affiliate marketer obviously, and I really had to re-write and re-organize everything I've done initially.
All in all, take your yearly subscription as a 1 year trial for yourself to succeed, and consider the money you paid as an investment. If you look at it this way and develop this point of view, you will be much relaxed about all this thing.
Another tip, regardless of making money or not, don't look back at this before the 1 year trial ends. You must be disciplined enough to keep going forward and not cut back at it before the 1 year mark.
If a full year has passed and still you didn't achieve your money goals, then it is up to you to decide whether to continue or not. Good luck!

Whoa whoa whoa. Ok I get that the word 'but' essentially removes everything you say before it, BUT I was unequivocally saying that I in no way think this is a scam based on my experience.

My follow up comment was more about this not being what I expected. So let me clarify that for the most part I mean that in a good way. This is a way more active and committed community than I would have expected.

As for everything else, thanks for the advice. I'll use it the best I can.
