Big Headache Verifying Your New Website with Bing.

Hey, guys don't forget that if you want to have your site searchable in Google, Yahoo, and Bing you have to submit and verify ownership your brand new site with Google and Bing.

We all know that from the many training by Kyle and Jay that we must do this. I have verified my other site with Google and Bing many times.

This is NOT a training.

Rather more of a headache. I made a brand new site for the SAC to promote WA. I ran into difficulty verifying ownership with Bing.

After many attempts, this kept coming up when I tried to verify the new site:

"Bing could not verify ownership of this site. See below for more details:
DNS
URL

Canonical Name Records No data available
We did not detect verify.bing.com in the CNAME records for the host."

I thought I did something wrong asked Site Support and they recommend contacting Bing.

I got this email.

As you can see I'm having a headache just to get this email. Now it's the waiting game.

If anyone knows how to verify it with the other two options please let me know. The training we get here are excellent however we are trained to always do option 2 to copy and paste the meta tag.

I have already tried the copy and paste to the <head> It didn't seem to work and I don't want to mess around in the editor area.

Don't let this big headache verifying your new website on Bing hinder you from the SAC task. While I was working on solving this issue that went nowhere I was also busy doing the other task that Kyle had laid out for us.

I'm keeping this short. So if you are having issue with verifying your new site this is why.

Thanks for reading. Appreciate all your comments. Let's rock, SAC!

Your site needs to be verified for you to use Search Console and Webmaster Tools.

Mine has been indexed too. And Marion is right she knows best.

Thanks Marion, sorry to be tardy in answering you, just seen this,
Stuart

Have you tried using your SEO plugin?

Hi, Marion thanks for the links. I am using All in One SEO plugin. I don't have Yoast. Should I change it? What's your recommendation?

It's a personal choice, Kelyee. I use Yoast but if you're happy with All In One then there's no need to change.

Okay thanks, Marion.
